Travel cot and highchair available on request. Stairgate.. Front garden with roofed decking area, steps to garden and garden furniture. Electric car charging point. Bike and kayak store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are 10 steps in the garden.. Ratagan Lodge is blessed with abundance of attractive features, with the owner’s mission being to create a property like no other in the area and something that’s as stunning inside as it’s wonderful setting outside. With the waters of Loch Duich and the ‘5 sisters of Kintail’ mountains acting as a backdrop the decking area to the front has been specially created to enable guests to enjoy the stunning vistas; no matter the time of year. Whether it’s to enjoy your morning coffee or for a spot of al fresco dining, you’ll find it hard to leave this sheltered dining area, and although we cannot guarantee the weather, we can guarantee the fresh Highland air combined with the beautiful scenery will leave you feeling most relaxed and refreshed.
As you enter the property into the bright and airy hallway, the family bathroom (complete with shower) is on your right and the staircase to your left. Straight ahead is the open plan dining/living area with dining table for four, extendable to seat six, which has a real cosy charm to it and a lovely ambiance created by the custom-made light fixtures which you’ll find throughout the property. The living area has a modern wood burner which will be sure to warm you up on the coolest of nights. Also on the ground floor you will find doors leading to snug area boasting uninterrupted views of the loch, Smart TV and double sofa bed, enabling guests sleeping downstairs to have an early night if they wish. The spacious kitchen is next door to the dining area and comes well-equipped for your stay. Upstairs, you’ll find the two spacious bedrooms, one with a zip and link twin beds which can be super kingsize beds on request, and the other a double bed.
The village of Ratagan has a peaceful and remote feel to it, but it’s also ideally situated to visit some of Scotland’s most popular tourist destinations including the Isle of Skye, Plockton, Applecross and Eilean Donan Castle easily. This area is paradise for those who love getting their boots muddy or spotting some rare wildlife. With such a fantastic selection of places to visit and activities to do, you’ll never be short of choice, however, for those that wish to simply relax, Ratagan Lodge caters for all. No pets please.

A lovely, spacious but cosy house with views to die for. As we were a party of 2 we lived comfortably in the snug which allowed me to take photos of the mountains & loch every 2 minutes as the skies changed - the patio door from the snug onto the decking was well used! I even had some midnight mooches down to the loch to take photos of the moon reflecting on the water. Excellent communication with the owner & plenty of helpful information to make for a comfortable stay. The only thing that you may find helpful is that the entrance to the drive is on the 'main road' - I use that term loosely - through Ratagan. I arrived as it was going dark, my sat nav was telling me to turn left & my tired eyes couldn't quite work it out. Once you know, you know. Oh & for your own sanity, please remember the bathroom is downstairs! Great location for visiting Skye (we went twice) - the scenery is fantastic & we were lucky enough to see golden eagles (3 sightings). The good thing about going out of season is that you can be a tourist without being too much of a pain to the locals. Would I like to stay again? In a heartbeat.

We are very keen on hillwalking. Ratagan Lodge was ideally located for very easy access to a great many hills.We were blessed with the weather so we were able to use the sitting out area every day. What an unforgettable view there is from there.

We had a week here in September (10-17th) and loved every minute. We saw otters from the shore one day and did walks in every direction from the house. The weather treated us quite kindly and we managed to be outdoors for a good part of each day without getting (too!) wet.
The house was so comfortable and well set up it was always a pleasure to return to. We slept so well too…all the fresh air and a super comfy bed. A great location for exploring Skye and the Glenelg area too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ratagan. The property was positioned perfectly to view the surrounding mountains and being loch side was ideal for a stroll. We observed a sea otter feeding on the shoreline as well as many other birds and wildlife. We were able to tour easily from Ratagan as the main road was only a short distance away and spent time on Skye as well as other beautiful areas of the West Coast. Thank you for allowing us to rent the Lodge, we hope to return!
