This charming water access only, newly built 2 bedroom "Mermaid Cabin" offers beautiful views of Jones Ville Harbour. Situated right over the water, it is over 800 Sq feet of living space. When you step out on the deck you will never want to leave. This cabin is located on 6 acres of a beautifully manicured point.
You can jump from your own private dock into the water or maybe you would like to go kayaking through the mangroves, which were used by pirates, or take the boat out and have a look at the island from the water side.
The gentle ocean breeze keeps the cabin cool. The cabin have an open kitchen for dining and the living room is complete with TV and Starlink Internet. The Mermaid cabin is tastefully decorated with 1 queen size bed and 1 king with blackout curtains that are just perfect for a good night’s sleep and air conditioning unit to make your stay much more comfortable, which makes it perfect for a family of four or two couples.
Large private front decks with unique wooden furniture to help you relax. A perfect place to spend your mornings with a book or afternoon and evenings with your favorite ice cold beverage or coffee. The only traffic that you will see is the boats as they sail or motor by. Very peaceful quiet area where you can relax and enjoy your vacation at the speed you want, lots of adventures for you to do.
If you like or plan on any activity we can help make it happen for you. Also, you can take the kayaks and explore the mangroves on your own, stop and enjoy a cold beer and music at the Salt Spray float bar, as you enjoy the beautiful crystal waters swimming in the creek or snorkeling. The reef is just in front of the cabin where you can enjoy snorkelling at any time. My husband offers snorkelling tour, Pigeon key trips to swim with the sharks, fishing charters, Cow & Calf snorkel, Fort Morgan Cay and any other island land tour.
All local grocery stores are just minutes away from your cabin, anything you may need can be found at one or the other.
Most importantly, upon your arrival you will be welcomed at the air port by your hosts, on our way to your relaxing vacation cabin we will make a stop to Eldon's super market where you can find anything like food and drinks you need for your stay.

My buddy and I arrived for a pleasant week, marred by unpleasant weather. There was an unexpected presence in the bight of a party barge anchored a short distance away, with music being broadcast, but the music ceased at dusk every night, thankfully. We didn’t check it out and I don’t know if it may be a temporary situation. Rosina is lovely. Sonny was unavailable while we were there so some of our options were unavailable. The weather (rain EVERY day) may have eliminated the trip to Pigeon Cay we’d have enjoyed. We used the kayaks daily and recommend Hole in the Wall as well as another kayak friendly eatery on the right when you emerge from the mangrove tunnel to the west (on past the pond) where the fish burgers lured us back. Ahhh

Does it get better than the Hillside Cabins in Jonesville? To start the cabin itself is amazing. The high pitched ceiling is a great touch. The warm shower, AC, WiFi, and full kitchen give you all the creature comforts of home but the crown jewel is the deck. Every morning you walk out the door to the deck and are greeted by a transcending view of the entire bay and on clear mornings (like we had) we could easily see the Honduran Mountains on the horizon. The deck being built over the water creates a Relaxation Station. The sound of the water, the salt in the air, and the scenic view melt away any stress you might be holding onto. One of our favorite pastimes was taking the kayaks out to the swim platform at the mouth of the bay where you can stand on the sandbar or platform and soak up an amazing view. The Eastside of the island, which Jonesville is located, offers a unique perspective of the islands culture away from the hustle and bustle of the Westside. Everywhere you go you go by boat. There are many great water taxis that will take you wherever you need to go for much less than your regular Uber. This gives you an opportunity to check out the gorgeous coastline communities located around Jonesville. The people are warm and polite. The food is incredible, and the value is amazing! The conch, the lobster, the shrimp! Their food is no joke. I hope for your sake you decide to stay at the Hillside Cabins. We plan on going back every year until we retire down there.

Both Rosina and Sonny were great hosts. From the time that they picked us up in Coxen Hole to the day they dropped us back off at the airport, they were very attentive to our needs. The view from the cabin was great and you could spend hours watching boats go by in the bay while sitting on the large front open deck. Highly recommend renting a small boat from Sonny and Rosina to get around the area as there are no roads to the cabin itself. Reminded us a lot of the small family cottages that we stay at on the inland lakes here in Canada. Kayaks were included to use if you would prefer a non motorized means of getting around. There are some waterfront bar/grills close by that were fun to spend time at and you could arrange to buy seafood from some of them (with advanced notice) to take back to the cabin for grilling/cooking. All in all, a great laid back place to vacation at and we hope to return again.

Sonny and Rosina were excellent hosts. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. And the area is absolutely beautiful. So much so that we repeatedly extended our stay. From lazy rainy days watching the boats go by to renting Sonny’s boat and exploring the vast surrounding waterways. We enjoyed every minute of it. Can’t wait to come back!
