This brand-new A-frame cottage is a charming and cozy retreat nestled among the trees. It features beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind in quiet natural surroundings.

You'll love the spacious and bright interior with floor to ceiling windows, allowing for stunning views of the surrounding nature. And with an open kitchen featuring a convenient island, cooking will be a breeze for everyone. Cozy up by the gas fireplace on chilly nights, or admire the grandeur of the cathedral ceilings. And for the kids, there's a fun and playful loft area that's sure to keep them entertained. Join them in the loft in the evening for a cozy movie night in front of the large Smart TV.

Here are just a few of the outdoor highlights: a spacious deck to soak up the sun, a cozy firepit for evening gatherings, and a comfortable outdoor living room to relax and take in the sights and sounds. Don't forget to fire up the propane BBQ for a delicious meal at the iron dining table. And for those chillier nights, head to the screened porch with heated floors for a warm and inviting dining experience. Plus, you'll enjoy the privacy of this lot, which backs onto a protected forested area in the charming village.
And now, the star of the space — a brand-new sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding nature and treed backyard. It’s the perfect place to warm up, unwind, and enjoy peaceful views in every season.
NOTE: Lake access is a few minutes walk on Tuyll street. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Max 1 well behaved dog is allowed but must sign separate pet addendum
Parking is limited to 3 vehicles
Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels.
All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Max occupancy at all times is 8 (6 Adults), violation will result in removal without refund.
Our Winter Weather Cancellation Policy is designed with your safety in mind. If winter conditions make travel unsafe or if there are road closures preventing you from reaching the cottage, you have flexible options:
❄ Delay Your Arrival – If the cottage is available, you can shift your stay by a day or two.
❄ Reschedule – Move your booking to a future date that works for you.
❄ Full Refund – If rescheduling isn’t possible, you can cancel for a full refund.

Once again we loved our stay at Poplar Woods. This location with the woodlot right behind the cottage truly is private and serene. The cottage is so lovely, spotless clean and inviting from the minute you walk in. Furniture is all so comfy - including the beds. The new sauna was a hit and got well used- especially loved by our 12 and 15 year old grandchildren. The upper floor is every bit as lovely and comfortable as the main floor and the lofty sitting area with tv cosy. Love it. Will note though that the only television is on the upper floor and anyone with mobility issues may have trouble getting up/down the rather steep stairs.
Thank you to CottageStays once again for being such a super cottage management company that really shows they care that you enjoy your stay from the minute you book and on through the stay.

It was such a pleasure staying at Poplar Woods. Small decor touches created a cared for feeling. It was so easy for us to relax and feel right at home for our girl's getaway. The cottage was spotless, beds were comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed throughout our stay, and the property was lovely inside and out. Jennifer was truly a pleasure to connect with, and responded without delay to answer any questions we had. If back in the Bayfield area, we would not hesitate to return to Poplar Woods. It was an exceptional experience.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this property! It was absolutely immaculate and the host was amazing! There was not a single bad thing I could say about our stay. The property was both stunning inside and out. The beds were cozy and smelted of fresh linen. It was a much needed girls weekend away, filled with relaxation and serenity. Not to mention in such a beautiful little town with gorgeous shops, all within walking distance. Highly recommend and I definitely hope to be back very soon!
