This rental was exactly as pictured. It was an easy to find home with clean spaces and plenty of room. Check in was easy. The neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to cook a few meals. It was only a short drive to the New River Gorge National Park which is what we came for. We didn’t use the gear room, but it would be a great space for anyone who needs it.

Clean and close to main attractions. House well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed our visit.

The house was very clean, which is the first thing I always look for. Very quiet neighborhood. Supplies were good except for one small issue that Steven took care of ASAP! Nice location to the New River Gorge NP. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend The Apollo Reed and its hosts.

We were quite disappointed in this property. We selected it based on the 5-star rating. However, in our opinion, this home is at best a mediocre property. While the inside looks adorable like the photos portray, the outside of the home has peeling and faded paint, and the front porch and porch swing are peeling badly. The neighborhood seems safe enough, but our first reaction was one of concern as the other properties in the neighborhood are also in need of upkeep. Cleanliness of this home was just ok. The inside of the microwave had not been cleaned, nor had areas behind doors. While the furniture looks very cute, it's low quality and not very comfortable (think dorm room quality). The King-sized bed has a "bump" all the way down the center of the bed. The owner was very responsive when we had a leaky hot water heater. He had a maintenance person out within 20 minutes! The hot water heater was replaced that day. So communication was great...but when we informed the owner that the entire dining room floor and table vibrate A LOT when the air conditioner is running, he told us this was the first time he had heard of this issue. BUT, the maintenance guy told us that they are waiting until the HVAC stops working to relocate it to the roof to address the huge vibration issue. We didn't appreciate that the owner wasn't straightforward with us. Overall, this property was disappointing and it definitely should not have a 5-star rating.
