Please note that this log cabin is 170-years-old. It's been well-cared for and offers plenty of cozy charm but does have characteristics of a historic home such as bumpy flooring, uneven stairs, and the occasional draft if it's cold and windy outside. In the winter the house is heated by the gas fireplace and electric space heaters so this may not be the best fit for guests who have balance issues or unsupervised children. In addition, we are located in the woods, the property is treated but there is a good chance you might see a bug or two in the warmer seasons!

Enjoyed our peaceful stay.Located between terrific catch-your-own trout farm and Grandfather Winery.From description, was hoping to access/walk along riverbank but could not.Host Shelley was very responsive.

We really enjoyed our time here. It was wet and rainy so the fireplace was perfect to sit and read. Bed was comfortable ,shower was hot and the house was clean. Well decorated, too. We enjoyed wine on the screened in back porch. There is a nice park across the street with walking paths and a dog park.

The log cabin house does have some charm. The kitchen is mostly nice. The bedrooms each have a king bed. All good things. But for us, there were too many small negatives that added up.
The biggest issue was that the upstairs smelled like... septic tank. We knew about the uneven floors from the listing. But a few boards are now a tripping hazard. The internet was always either out or painfully slow. The light bulbs need help. Several light bulbs were out. Others are harsh. Others flicker often. One fixture had 3 different bulbs. The dishwasher had fallen out of its harness and was bouncing around. The screen room is missing half of its screens. Most of the windows don't open. The few that do are missing screens. The upstairs was hot even though it was chilly outside and we turned off all the heat. The upstairs bathroom sink does not fully drain. Working the TV was guesswork. We never could figure out the volume.
The property is not really secluded. It is behind a self-storage that has a lot of junk on the property. And you have a neighbor's house close to one side. This neighbor has an obnoxious outside light that blasts the screen room/yard/firepit making them unusable.
If the owner spent a week fixing up these issues, it could be a nice place.
