Über diese haus dieses Ferienunterkunft
An old Great Western Railway coach, now a holiday home for two, with one double bed, a shower room, a kitchenette and its own decking, on a lawn at a farm at Norcote, just outside Cirencester. Everything is on one level, a few steps up from a lit path, and your allocated parking space is close by. Three donkeys live in the paddock alongside, one dog is welcome, and Cirencester's Market Place is about 5 minutes by car.
The Space:
Sleeping
One UK double bed, 135 cm wide (about the size of a US full), made up with hotel-quality linen, with spare pillows and blankets. The carriage sleeps two.
Bathroom
A shower room with a large shower, with towels and toiletries provided for you both.
Kitchenette
Induction hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and coffee machine, with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery for simple meals. There is no oven or dishwasher.
Living
Original railway features and wood panelling, cushioned bench seats, a Smart TV, Wi-Fi and board games.
Everyday practicals
Room-darkening blinds, a hair dryer, a table where you can work on a laptop, heating, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Bed linen and towels are included.
Heating and cooling
An electric fire, an electric heater and an oil-filled radiator for cold weather, and a tower fan for warm days.
Outside
Private decking with a table and chairs, facing the afternoon sun, and a lawn in front, beside the donkey paddock. You can say hello to the three donkeys, but please don't feed them. Squirrels are regular visitors on the lawn.
Travelling with a dog
One dog is welcome, and a pet fee applies. With a pond, a road and farm animals close by and no fence around the grounds, dogs stay on a lead outdoors.
Good to know
The carriage is compact and made for two. It shares the farm with other buildings and a drive, so it is quiet rather than remote, and you can hear traffic on the main road. In a heatwave it warms up quickly.
Guest Access:
The carriage and decking are yours. Self check-in is by lockbox from 4 pm, with the last arrivals at 9 pm, and departure is by 11 am. Your free parking space is on site, right by the carriage.
The Neighborhood:
Norcote is on the edge of Cirencester, the Roman market town at the heart of the Cotswolds. Driving times: Cirencester Market Place 5 minutes, the Corinium Museum 6, the Royal Agricultural University 7, Cirencester Park 9, Bibury and Arlington Row 11, the Cotswold Water Park 13, Tetbury 18, Bourton-on-the-Water 23, Westonbirt Arboretum 28 and Cheltenham Racecourse 35. Cirencester Park, nine minutes' drive, has wide open spaces for a long walk.
Getting Around:
Kemble station, about 11 minutes by car, has trains to London Paddington, Swindon and Cheltenham. A car is needed for shops and sights, as Cirencester is too far to walk comfortably.
Other Things to Note:
ID check and deposit: after booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest. You choose either a Damage Deposit of £100 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £15 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest). If you can't use the photo ID check, message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please don't send ID documents by email. Your booking is on the Blue Puffin Stays Booking Terms (Guests) and the House Rules for this home.
Arrivals after 9 pm aren't possible, as that is when self check-in closes.
Interaction with Guests:
Our own local Blue Puffin Stays team looks after Railway View. Message us on Vrbo any day between 8 am and 8 pm for directions, dog-friendly pubs or anything you need in the carriage. Your check-in message includes an emergency number for anything urgent during your stay.
