Welcome to The Retro Retreat, a freshly renovated two-bedroom home just minutes from historic downtown New Bern. Designed with a cheerful mid-century vibe and practical comforts, this single-story house is ideal for weekend getaways, longer stays, or work trips with space to relax.
Inside, you’ll find a bright living area, two comfortable bedrooms (sleeps four), a fully equipped kitchen for real cooking, and in-home laundry for convenience. The layout is simple and functional, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
Step outside to enjoy the fully fenced yard — perfect for relaxing with morning coffee or unwinding in the evening. The home sits in a quiet residential neighborhood with quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, and the waterfront district.
Guests driving electric vehicles can take advantage of the on-site Level 2 (40A) J1772 EV charger, available for a $25 flat fee per stay. (Tesla drivers should bring a J1772 adapter.)

This is a privately owned home, not a hotel. Please treat the property and furnishings with care. Guests are responsible for damages beyond normal wear and tear.
Registered Guests Only
Only registered guests are permitted on the property unless prior approval is given.
Occupancy & Gatherings
No parties or events. Maximum of 6 people on the property without prior written approval.
Quiet Hours
Please be mindful of neighbors, especially between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM.
Smoking Policy
No smoking inside the home. Outdoor smoking is permitted with doors and windows closed. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly. Additional cleaning fees may apply for violations.
Pets
Dogs are welcome with a $50 pet fee. Limit of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals without prior approval. Please clean up all pet waste.
EV Charger
Level 2 (40A) J1772 charger available for a $25 flat fee per stay (1 week or less).
Kitchen & Grill Use
Please wash dishes and clean appliances after use.
Do not operate the grill under the carport. Turn off gas at tank after use and clean grill before departure.
Furniture & Property Use
Please do not rearrange furniture.
Energy Use
Turn off lights and AC when leaving the property.
Trash
Please remove trash before departure.
Check-In / Check-Out
Please adhere to scheduled check-in and check-out times. Late checkouts must be approved in advance and may incur fees.
Unauthorized late departures beyond 4 hours may result in additional charges up to the nightly rate and removal from the property if necessary.

Retro Retreat was the PERFECT place for us to stay in New Bern! We needed a dog/pet friendly home as we had to travel with our Lucy for a family event. The decor was colorful but soothing at the same time, the beds and couches were comfortable and there was absolutely everything we needed plus three (yes 3) coffee pots. The location was very convenient to our family's homes (but not too close) and only 10 minutes from the lovely downtown area. In addition to the great downtown restaurants, there's one local favorite within walking distance. The site is also just a short trip to Morehead City, Atlantic Beach and Beaufort. Chris was an awesome host, providing clear information for both check-in and check-out. Additionally, he responded quickly to any questions and offered recommendations for restaurants, and checked in on us every day. We did not want to leave, but "real life" was calling. I'll defininately chose this (if available) for any future visits to the area.

Dog friendly fenced yard and easy access to many of the surrounding towns. Carolina grill is walking distance and delicious

The owner's directions for check-in were accurate and everything went smoothly. The home was charming, clean, and matched its photos. The kitchen was well-equipped and the house contained everything that we needed for a smooth trip. The location was perfect for easy access to downtown New Bern in less than 5 minutes. Grocery store across street was convenient for making dinner. Walked our dog around the neighborhood and fenced in yard allowed our pet to have some room to stretch his legs.
