The area has some beautiful sandy beaches in pretty coves, which are backed by pretty cliffs, providing the perfect family day out. The village of St Ewe with its own local pub is close by and for more choice, the fishing village of Mevagissey with its working harbour, narrow streets, fisherman’s pubs and cafés is a short drive. Caerhays Castle, and Porthluney Beach, are two beautiful little places that provide the perfect place for a moonlit stroll, or somewhere to practise building sandcastles with your little ones. A similar distance away will bring you to the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the quaint fishing port of Mevagissey. Further afield is the Georgian Port of Charlestown (with its resident tall ships), the Eden Project and Fowey which is great for kayaking. With the many fishing villages close by for sailing and sea fishing and the capital city of Truro, St Mawes and the surfing beaches of Newquay, Camellia Cottage and Bluebell really are in the ideal location to enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. The South Cornwall coast is home to many National Trust houses and gardens, which provide superb days out for all. Golf, horse riding, cycle hire and off road trails for walking and riding are all available close by. The nearest beach is just 4 miles. Shop 1¾ miles, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
