Stay at our little cottage on the shores of the Detroit River.
This one room cottage has all the makings of a simple getaway:
hammock, BBQ, private sand spit and fire pit.
Quintessential summer, minutes from downtown of Amherstburg.
Well suited to young families, girls' weekends, couples getaways, and anyone just looking for a bit of quiet.
The small beach is perfect for building sandcastles with tikes, or digging your lawn chair in and watching the sunset; the large deck is a great place to pass the afternoon, BBQ-ing and watching the freighters go by, the hammock is the place to polish off your summer reading list.
There is a bike lane along Front Road, for cyclists wanting to pop into town; or head to the wine route.
The Cottage makes a perfect jump-off point for: exploring the EPIC wine route, city of Windsor, Boblo Island, Town of Amherstburg, Holiday Beach, Point Pelee National Park.
Cooking:
Propane BBQ on the deck
Kitchen: Stove, (2) mini bar fridges, fully stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, etc. as well as some basic spices, condiments, tinfoil, saran wrap, to aide you in your kitchen prep.
Sleeping:
(2) Murphy Beds: (1) Queen + (1) Double
Bathroom:
Toilet, Sink, Shower with seat
The bunkie promises to host you for a perfect little getaway.

The Drifted Inn is a studio cottage that has everything you need. I fell in love with the home, location on the river (lots of sunsets) and wildlife that visits. With no internet or television, my husband and I played games and read to one another while sitting on the deck enjoying the day. We haven't connected like that in 20 years. It was so special.The host will send you recommendations of places to visit; do yourself a favor and do them. The bakeries and shops were delicious. We purchased a steak from the butcher and grilled it at the cottage; unbelievable tender and flavorful.Just extra tips for future guests, even though there is no 'freezer', they have an ice maker so no need to bring a cooler just to keep ice on hand. Also, there are no closets or dressers (or at least that I saw). We kept our clothes in our suitcases, or you can bring a portable clothes rack.I can't wait to go back.

Location was great, private, and relaxing.
Neighbor woke us up the first day there as they thought they left their cell on site. Didn't really need that at 8 am especially after traveling from a diff timezone with 2 small kids...
Cottage was clean, couldn't figure out the heater so had a couple cold nights, Murphy beds were fine for the kids but messed with my wife and I's back/hips.
Big time ant problem in the kitchen area that cost us some food early, I probably killed 30 ants in the kitchen myself.
My wife and I enjoyed sitting outside and the boys enjoyed the little beach.
Dual Mini Fridges stored everything we needed for our week long stay.
When you arrive its more like a really old cottage with really old furnishings that needs some work so keep your expectations in line with that and you will be fine.
