Note from Carol and Mike (Owners): It has been several years since we had our extended family stay at Corolla Paradise. This past year we hosted Thanksgiving for a large group of family, new and old. We celebrated our daughter getting engaged (She did not know it was going to happen but everyone else did)! Most of the guests had been here many times but some had never been here at all.
The whole thing reminded us of what a great house this is for Family/Friends. We got to visit with family members who we live too far away from to see as often as we would like. And, at the same time, meet some new family members that we have never met. At Corolla Paradise, both of those worked beautifully. We had 4 generations mingling, playing games, doing puzzles, watching Football games on TV, going for walks, and we could go on and on. Most of the "action" took place in the Great Room/Kitchen but, at any point, groups or individuals could use the Theater Room, Game Room or the two quiet areas on the middle floor. As a great bonus, every Bedroom had its own full Bathroom.
The whole experience made us smile and wonder... "Why don't we do this more often?" For us, it was a wake-up call as to how important our family is to us.
Welcome to our home, built with two of almost everything. It makes hosting large groups a breeze – Huge open kitchen with 2 stoves, refrigerators and dishwashers, 2 living rooms, 1 game room and 1 media/theatre area. The perfect place for family/friend reunions, Golfers, or even corporate groups.
We are entering our eighth year of hosting guests at Corolla Paradise. We are so thankful for all the people who have stayed in Corolla Paradise over the years. Our goal has always been to help our guests have the perfect vacation. We have learned a lot throughout that time about doing just that. There are, of course, many different types of vacations. But if you are looking for a place to reunite with family and/or friends we believe this is the perfect spot.
Here are some highlights of what people have enjoyed over the years (Based on conversations with and reviews from our guests):
• The Kitchen/Great Room- OPEN FLOOR PLAN KITCHEN- The "everyone gathers in the kitchen" problem is solved!
You host a party. Your family and friends come over, and where do they go? That's right! The kitchen...and there never seems to be enough room! Well, we solved that problem for you while you are on vacation!
Cooking and cleanup crews are surrounded by family and friends while they work. The huge center island seats 9 people who can enjoy a beverage while visiting with the people in the kitchen. Many people love to Cook on these kinds of vacations. We set it up, so the Cooks are at the Center of all Conversation. (And there can be several Cooks at the same time).
• It is VERY private. Surrounded by trees. Other than your walk to the beach you could spend the week without laying eyes on anyone but your family/friends. Very few houses in the Outer Banks have this level of privacy.
• Most importantly, we clean the house ourselves. We are using hospital grade cleaning products, and we are thorough! The health and well-being of you and your family are the most important thing of all and being able to safely decompress while visiting with family and friends is part of that.
• 10 Bedrooms/ 10 Bathrooms, Each Bedroom has a Full Bathroom attached to it. There are 8 Jetted Tubs. It is truly the best of two worlds. You can have the privacy that a hotel room provides, but at the same time have the fun, camaraderie, and economic advantages that traveling with a large group can bring.
• Very LARGE Private 16 X 40 Heated Pool and Hot Tub.
• 3 Minute QUIET walk to the beach. “Quiet” is emphasized because most houses in the OBX that are not directly on the beach have at least one busy road to cross. Our walk is a neighborhood walk. “Safe” is another word that comes to mind here.
• The Beach- The BEACH is incredible- Beautiful sand, Great waves. Corolla Beaches are the widest beaches in the OBX. We have a full-time lifeguard on duty all Summer. The Lifeguard Stand is right there as you cross over the Dune. From the end of Corolla Paradise’s driveway to the walkway over the dune is a 3-minute stroll through the beautiful and quiet neighborhood. This area has no public parking, so you can enjoy the uncrowded Beach!
• Our neighborhood has its own Tennis Court.
• The Currituck Club Golf Course is a 4-minute drive. The Currituck Club is ranked in the top 10 in North Carolina Golf Courses.

There was something for everyone to enjoy in the house. The pool and hot tub and pool table were hits, even after long afternoons at the beach. One of the young adults is a gamer and the theater room was perfect for him. Mike and Carol quickly replaced the broken DVD player, which we set up in the second floor for some down time movie time before bedtime. There was plenty of room on the top level for multiple card games at once, as well karaoke entertainment for the card players!The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for several people to be prepping/cooking at the same time. The top most deck received a lot of use as another place to hang out. The beach was close and the privateness of it was a bonus. There is also a tennis court with a basketball hoop at one end. None of us play tennis, but we did use it for pickleball. We ranged in age from 6-76, and there were 19 of us. This was perfect for us and again, a big shout out to Mike and Carol for their communication and hospitality.

We had a wonderful week here.Mike and Carol are great hosts. Excellent communication from the time we booked and throughout our stay.The home is everything it's advertised to be. The kitchen was perfect for our large group and there are plenty of seating areas on each floor to hang out in. We all enjoyed the pool and the adults enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after the littles were asleep.The beach was a quick 3-4 minute walk and not at all crowded.This end of OBX is perfect. Plenty to do and not overly commercialized.Would definitely recommend and we are hoping to make a return trip as well.
