We booked The Hideaway for our small group gathering over the 4th of July, and it was exactly the quiet escape we were hoping for. The house has such a warm, easygoing character, with great porches for sitting outside together and plenty of room to spread out. The history of the home and what it now offers guests is a wonderful story the owners should be proud of sharing.We spent our days lounging in the cowboy tank, a perfect way to cool off on a hot day, and our evenings unwinding and playing dominoes in the dining room. Schulenburg was the perfect distance to get away from the busy city. Would happily book again for another low-key getaway.

We’ve stayed in many Vrbo rentals over the years, and this was by far our best experience. From start to finish, everything was seamless. We had a unique situation, and our host was incredibly gracious, caring, and accommodating. Their kindness and willingness to work with us made all the difference.The house itself was comfortable, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It’s the perfect place to unplug and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the noise of the city. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a restful retreat.

If you are looking for a great place to spend time with family, especially outdoors, this is a wonderful pick. It is very stylish, clean and there is a lot to do on the property. Sipping coffee on the porch in the morning and listening to the cows and birds is idylic. I would say the one complaint is the arrangement of the bedrooms (one flows into the other), and the fact that the downstairs bedrooms are far from the bathroom which is right off the kitchen. If you have much older members in your party, this could present a problem. The upstairs bedroom/bathroom area is beautiful and well-appointed, and the beds are SO comfortable!! Overall, great place to enjoy time with family and close to wedding venues!
