This former fishing and seafaring village, with its 125-year tradition as a seaside resort, has fortunately managed to preserve its authentic and natural character. Prerow, with its approximately 1,500 residents, is a popular and attractive Baltic Sea resort known for its 395-meter-long pier and the Darßer Ort lighthouse. The kilometer-long sandy beach, up to 100 m wide, is the ideal vacation spot for anyone eager to swim—with or without a swimsuit—and, thanks to the adjacent Darss Forest and its national park, it’s perfect for hikers and cyclists alike. For this reason, we decided to purchase the “Sturmmöwe,” “Haubentaucher,” “Austernfischer,” and “Graugans” vacation apartments in the Vogelnest vacation home and have since completely modernized and renovated it. Take our word for it: there’s no better or more relaxing way to spend your vacation. The vacation home is situated in a very quiet location directly behind the dike on the Prerow Strom. The North Beach is accessible through the forest, about 300 meters away. Despite its quiet location, the town center—with its excellent restaurants and shops—is a convenient 5-minute walk away.
