The newly repaired fishing pier provides water access at the end, depending on the tide, while the naturally formed sandbar in front of the camp has created a private beach area perfect for relaxing, small gatherings, setting up beach gear, or dropping crab traps. Downstairs, you'll find an extra commode, additional icebox/freezer space for your catch, a new fish cleaning station, and an ice machine to help keep everything fresh. With easy kayak launching right from the property, Pearly Whites is an excellent home base for enjoying Grand Isle from the water.
Whether you're casting a line, searching for crabs, paddling the bay, or simply sitting back and enjoying the sunrise, Pearly Whites offers a laid-back coastal escape where making memories comes naturally.

The property was great for what we needed. It was close to the bridge which made it quick to get to the marina(s) and it was an easy walk to the pier for night fishing. It had enough things to help get us started for cleaning, etc.We did notice some dead/alive ants scattered around the kitchen/bathroom sinks when we first arrived, but saw they had traps out. We updated the housekeepers on departure to make sure the traps get replaced as the ants were more prevalent when we left despite frequent cleaning and taking garbage out.

When we arrived we noticed that the A/C return grille (where the A/C filter goes), had fallen down before we got there. It looks as though the hole where the screw to hold the grille up had been stripped out. We immediately emailed VRBO about it and they never responded back to us about it. Luckily the temperatures were nice outside, so we did not run the A/C on our trip.
Also, the description said there was a BBQ was available with propane. There was no propane bottle when we arrived, and the grill was so disgusting and rusty, we weren't interested in grilling on it in any case. It doesn't need to be cleaned, it needs to be disposed of and replaced. We ended up pan frying our burgers inside.
Also, something to note, that's not the host's fault, is that the pier is not lit, and the water is VERY shallow at the end of the pier... maybe a foot and a half deep at high tide. There is an operable boat launch due to how high the sand was there. It looks as though the construction of the rock jetty in front of the pier worked well to prevent erosion, however it looks like lots of sand built up around the pier area.
Other than that, the view was very nice, and the kids had fun playing on the little beachy areas next to the pier.
