Bear Ridge Manor & Cottage — nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains—are lovely private homes filled with discovery. The two homes — the sprawling Manor estate and the intimate nearby Cottage — perch atop 50 glorious mountaintop acres offering 360° exquisite views to comfortably lodge up to 28 guests. Cottage photos are also featured in photo gallery. Both properties are included with your Bear Ridge Manor rental.

Our property is perfect for family & friends reunions. Both houses boast hot tubs, fully equipped kitchens, home theaters, new appliances, grills, and luxurious linens. You can arrive by helicopter, host an event under the hilltop pavilion at the Cottage, park numerous vehicles, and hike the trails.
Located 30 minutes from Downtown Asheville, 20 min from Lake Lure/Chimney Rock & 15 minutes from Downtown Black Mountain. Close to hiking, fishing, boating & parks. Come to Bear Ridge Manor & Cottage for a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
The Manor is impeccably designed with room to roam, built with extreme attention to detail.
The Bear Ridge Cottage is just a half mile down the hill from the Manor (great exercise for walkers!) and provides lots of extra parking for the two homes. 2 king bedrooms, plus bathroom with luxurious shower. The downstairs living room features an incredibly comfortable sectional sofa, large TV, full sofa bed, laundry room and half bathroom. The bright kitchen is fully stocked for all cooking needs. The outdoor deck features a grill, table for sipping your morning coffee and a 4-person hot tub on the hill. We recommend 4 adults and 1-2 small children for optimum comfort.
Bear Ridge Manor Property Features
I. BEDROOMS (6+ Sleeping Areas)
FOUR oversized ensuite KING Bedrooms on different levels, each with great views.
Lower level king features an automated Japanese Toto toilet, dual shower, seating areas and access to hot tub/patio.
Main floor king features an enormous his/her bath with shower, jetted tub, separate his/her toilets & sinks, large walk-in closet, seating areas, gas-powered fireplace, private patio, and amazing views.
2nd floor king bedrooms are separated by long hallways, which includes a sitting area with balcony. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world with views in all directions.
ONE Queen Bedroom on the second level, includes ensuite bath and TV.
ONE Loft Area features two queen size beds in a separate sleeping area, with 4k TV, luxury furnishings and linens; an attached living room has 2 queen sized leather sofa beds, 4k TV, dresser. Shared bathroom is accessed in main hallway.
BONUS Sleeping Area
The lower level room has a luxury leather couch that opens to a queen-size sofa bed.
II. KITCHENS (there are 3 of them!)
Main floor kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances, 6-burner Viking gas stove, oven, speed oven/microwave, Sub-Zero fridge, fully automatic Jura coffee maker, toaster oven, matching service for 12 (dishes & flatware with back-up for guests up to 24), complete set of pots & pans, two sinks, kitchen island with seating, dishwasher, additional bar height counter seats five.
Lower-level kitchen features a cooktop, dishes, flatware, mini fridge and sink.
Outdoor kitchen features a screened-in patio with lounge seating, dining table for 5, wood-burning fireplace, full 6-burner gas range, built-in gas grill, sink & mini fridge.
III. MAIN LIVING ROOM
The heart of the home features 15-foot ceilings, gas-fired fireplace & mantle, Steinway grand piano, large seating areas, amazing artwork and a wall of windows with endless mountain views, a surround sound system and 4K Frame TV. This ultimate family gathering area connects the open kitchen & dining room. The guest bathroom features an automated Japanese Toto toilet.
IV. MAIN DINING ROOM
This gorgeous area has a wall of windows facing the unbelievable north mountain view. It features a 10-foot wood dining table with enough seating for 12 guests --perfect for making amazing memories!
V. ENTERTAINMENT
• Billiard Room features pool table with cues, ping pong conversion top, bar & seating areas.
• Poker Room features table for six with chips and cards. A variety of games for outdoors are available for plenty of family fun.
• Home Theater is fully equipped with Dolby Atmos surround sound, 4k laser projector with a 120” screen, six fully automated theater seats (that lie flat!), bean bags & PlayStation 5 game system. A dream room for kids and adults.
• Complete home indoor/outdoor Sonos audio system. The system can play throughout the home, or individually control each room. The system allows you to connect your favorite playlists with your smartphone.
• Hot tub area is fully equipped with a luxurious 6-person jetted Vita spa, seating areas, lighting & music. Tub is drained and cleaned prior to each visit, filled with fresh mountain spring water (minimally treated with chemicals).
• Outdoor gas fire pit boasts amazing sunset views. Sit fireside while to get toasty while sipping wine & taking in all that nature offers. You’ll feel like you’re on the edge of the forest in a vast mountain range.
• Outdoor fireplace in screened-in porch with seating areas and 4k TV. You’ll feel outdoors yet are covered from the elements and protected from any critters.
• Enjoy playing music on the 6-foot grand piano facing breathtaking mountain views. This impeccably restored Steinway was built in the glory days of Steinway in 1925.
• Over 1000 sf of outdoor decking, featuring mountain views in every direction, rocking chairs, seating areas and dining table for up to 8. You will spend every minute you can on the deck, a truly magical spot at the Manor.
• Get some exercise on the trails in the general area surrounding the estate, perfect for hiking, or take a walk down the paved 1-mile driveway as the perfect workout routine. Up & down drive is about 2 miles—a vigorous workout!
Entertainment Add-ons (not included in rental fees):
• Helicopter tours are available directly from the property at our onsite helipad right on the mountaintop. 30-minute to 2-hour tours are available for 2 up to 6 passengers. You can also create a custom charter to travel up to 3 hours from the house in any direction & travel with up to 6 passengers. Please inquire about 3rd party vendors for bookings.
• Fishing, swimming, biking, climbing hiking, zip-lining, The Biltmore Estate etc. Our nearby property manager grew up in the area and is available to provide information on 3rd party private tours. Please inquire at booking for pricing or create a custom tour with area experts!
• We have access to private local chefs with advance notice.
VI. GROUNDS
In the spring, summer & fall the grounds are bursting with seasonal colors in every corner. Florals & greenery provide enjoyment as each season evolves. In the wintertime everything is cut back & trimmed to perfection, leaving a beautiful color palette to enjoy.
There is a two-car garage for guest use, equipped with EV charger, with a connecting mudroom & washer/dryer--the perfect area to enter after a hike to take off your shoes or enter with groceries, shopping bags, etc.
There's high-speed internet through the property, but please remember we are in a mountain location so sometimes there may be disruptions.
Cameras located on rooftop and lower driveway are in place for security of the outdoor perimeter area.
Parking restricted to 6 cars at Bear Ridge Manor but the Cottage has lots of extra parking.
One basket of wood is complimentary; you may order more on site.
Please note trash fee may be incurred if you generate more than the 2 bins in the garage.
VII. GENERAL
Each floor has an iron & board, each bathroom a blow dryer, each room a view, each room a sound system, each room a 4k TV, each kitchen fully equipped, each bedroom with luxurious linens and towels, each piece of furniture is hand-picked, a wonderful art collection throughout the home—and so on.
Standard rentals are 3 or 4-night minimums depending on the season. Some restrictions apply to special dates and holidays. Please contact host for inquiries.
VIII. PETS
WE ARE PET FRIENDLY TO DOGS, so you can snuggle up together next to the fireplace! Up to 2 dogs, preferably under 50lbs, non-shedding varieties that are well trained, well groomed & have trimmed nails. The house is deep cleaned & fully sanitized after each pet stay for those who might be worried that we allow pets. Please note that our pet fee is $250 for up to 2 dogs. Pet fee for the Cottage is $150.
IX. EVENTS
Minimum fee: $2500, includes tables and chairs, trash management and some assistance from our property manager. Details to be determined.
-$500 cleaning fee
-Additional labor fees are $50/hr if needed.
-Event receptions require professional catering.
DISCLAIMER:
If you’re weary of creepy crawly things, remember you’re in the mountains surrounded by a forest. You might see bugs, spiders, moths, mice and other critters inside and outside your cabins. Also be mindful of the invasion wave of ladybugs in mid to late fall and the awakening wave in early spring. You will find large numbers present inside and outside the home areas. All that being said, they are part of your fun experience and opportunity to connect with nature.
General Activities:
Enjoy the trails in the general area surrounding the mountaintop. The paved 1-mile road up to the driveway is the perfect workout routine.
The paved road is shared by neighbors so you must drive slowly and yield to oncoming traffic.

We had the most amazing stay at this home with a group of 10 friends (plus a few little ones), and truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hosts were incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the area—they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.Although we had plans to explore outside of the house, we honestly didn’t want to leave. The home is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and perfectly set up for a large group. Every corner offers breathtaking views, which made it feel even more special.Some of our favorite moments were spent in the outdoor kitchen and fireplace area—it was such a cozy, inviting space to gather. We also loved the downstairs area that opens out to the lower patio and hot tub, which quickly became another go-to spot for relaxing and spending time together.This home made our trip unforgettable, and we’re so grateful to the hosts for creating such a warm and welcoming space. We would absolutely love to come back!

A group of friends and I celebrated my birthday at this amazingly beautiful home on top of the mountain. It was a perfect gathering and created memories of a lifetime. Everything was perfect, from the gorgeous mountain views, the hot tub, the most comfortable beds, to the wonderful cooking facilities both indoors and outdoors. I can’t thank the hosts enough for providing everything we needed for a magical weekend.

We had a great time in this absolutely stunning home! The views are absolutely incredible from every area of the home. The bedrooms are big and so very comfortable. Kids loved the game room and playing ping pong. The outdoor grill was fantastic on our last night and sitting outside with beautiful views while we ate. We could go on and on, absolutely fantastic place to stay!
