Alen at Villa Kanco was friendly and easy to work with. His property was beautiful and perfect for what we looked for. The rooms and home were clean ad the set up was excellent for our 8 guests. It was situated in a lovely part of Istria, Croatia which was convenient to the several places we visited. The amenities; hot tub, sauna, pool, pool table, table tennis and fuss ball equipment were in good condition and we spent many hours of our free time in friendly competition. For us, Villa Kanco was a hidden jewel for our family and many thought it would be hard to top in the future. We would gladly return.

This home is a great get away for your young family. There are plenty of activities in the house to keep the children happy and a very relaxing atmosphere for the adults. The house had everything we needed. The location was optimal for exploring Isteria and located near a small village with a market and a few local restaurants. The hosts were very response and welcoming.

We stayed at Villa Kanco in May 19, and could not have asked for more!
The villa is stunning, modern, and very large - with all the amenities you could need. The villa would easily sleep 10 people. There is 4 large apartment style bedrooms each with a modern bathroom. A well equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge, and a sauna + hot tub room on the ground floor.
Outside is a very nice pool, spacious patio and dining area, nice gardens, kids playing area, and parking for 2-3 cars. Also is a huge separate games house with table tennis, billiards, indoor grill and more.
The whole property is very clean, well maintained, and built to a luxury standard. The location is also extremely good - great views and very peaceful, near Barban which is a quiet town, and in central Istria being no more than 30 mins drive to any of the major tourist areas such as Porec, Rovinj, Pula. Also well worth a visit is Bale – very picturesque small town. Lots of Roman history to be seen in the whole area.
The property is easy to find, just off a main road - but there is so little traffic here it is very quiet. It is very easy to drive around the Istria region, roads are very well built and barely any traffic outside of city centres. Sure beats driving in the UK!
Many thanks to Barbara and Alen for a really great stay.
PS. Also well worth a visit is Premantura, south of Pula. It’s a bit of an off-road trek but head for the far end to the Safari Bar - you won’t find anything else like it!
