Escape to a quiet mountain cabin just 10 minutes from downtown Ellijay. Red Maple Cabin is perfect for couples, families, girls' weekends, or a relaxing mountain getaway. With 3 bedrooms, it comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests. Nestled in the gated Walnut Mountain community, this peaceful mountain retreat offers hiking trails, four private lakes, a seasonal pool, tennis courts, and beautiful wooded surroundings.
Sip your morning coffee from one of 3 decks while listening to the mountain stream and watching deer walk by. Later relax in the hot tub or around the fire pit beneath the stars after a day exploring Ellijay. (Just 10 minutes to downtown Ellijay and 23 minutes to Blue Ridge).
As you arrive at the cabin you are greeted by the front deck with several inviting rocking chairs. Inside are wood walls and wood floors for that true cabin experience.
One of our favorite things about Red Maple Cabin is the peaceful setting. At night the stars are incredible, and during the day you'll often spot squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and deer right from the deck.
The main level features the living room with a high vaulted ceiling, a cozy fireplace, two queen bedrooms, a full bath, and well-equipped kitchen. Off the kitchen is the second deck running the entire length of the cabin with a plumbed gas grill and perfect views.
The upper/loft main bedroom features a king-size bed, private full bathroom, reading nook, and double doors opening to the private screened deck.
Downstairs (basement) is a large game room with a Smart TV, sitting area, a regulation size cornhole set, game table, and lots of games.
Outdoors, the back yard features a wood-burning fire pit for enjoying great conversations on a chilly night. Blankets are provided too.
Lake Dakwa is just a 5-minute walk away for fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
The private king suite is located upstairs while two queen bedrooms are on the main level.

This place was amazing!!! We saw deer come up right to the front door yet also had all the conveniences of home. Plenty of space for games and puzzles and whatever you can think of, and everything was top notch. Wifi was really fast and allowed me to work remotely a couple days with zero issues. Seriously one of the best places I have ever stayed at.

About a week late with my review, but had to get on here and brag on this property and the owner Dan! My husband and I stayed here for my Birthday weekend and took our fur babies with us. Dan communicated with me through the entire process, so well in fact, I barely had to ask any questions because they were already answered. Gate code, door code, directions to house, places to visit, restaurants…nothing was left out. The home was immaculate and so cozy! Throughly enjoyed sitting in the rockers on the back deck drinking coffee and watching deer graze. The decor wasn’t over the top, but was super cute. Shower was great with very good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The property was pet friendly and there was even a container and bags for pet waste. There is fencing, but does not go all the way around the property. We brought leads with us and were able to put the dogs out without worrying about them wandering off. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, just bring your own food and drinks. There are three bedrooms…two downstairs and one in the loft. We slept downstairs and the bed was very comfortable. Except for occasional car noise and the renters one house over (playing their music one evening), it was very peaceful and quiet. Dan has literally thought of everything, he had a dog crate already in the home, but I also found baby gates, crib sheets, high chair, ironing board…everything you need! I highly recommend staying here,

The cabin had everything we needed for our holiday weekend stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with all the necessities, the hot tub and porch were great and communication with the host was easy. The first day it rained so we didn’t get to use the fire pit but that was also an amenity that added to the charm of this cabin. It was close to town but yet secluded enough to recharge during our time away. We used the lake for some fishing and had the whole area to ourselves and even caught one! 5/5 stars with Red maple cabin, this was our 2nd stay here and would come back for a third again in the future.
