Charming and modern apartment with beautiful sea view a few steps from the beach of Cala Rossa, in Ortigia.
The apartment is on the second floor of a building with an elevator in the center of Ortigia. It opens onto the large living area, an open space with a dining table, sofas, television, and a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, kettle, toaster, and coffee maker.
The sleeping area consists of three bedrooms with queen-size beds. Three bathrooms with shower and hairdryer complete the layout.
*The property is currently undergoing maintenance work. Therefore, there will be scaffolding and for this reason there could be some noise during the day..
*Please be advised that the apartment is located in a lively area; the presence of clubs may cause noise during the evening and night hours, as well as on weekends.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
For lovers of relaxation and the sea, eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything one could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and heading south, the best-equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella, and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from the natural freshwater springs and the particular white color of the sand. On the island of Ortigia, you will also find equipped solariums (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a small free beach called Cala Rossa. Further south, some 30 km away, we find some beautiful unspoiled and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Fauna Oasis, and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, the Greek theatre of Syracuse and the entire archaeological park with the Ear of Dionysius, a cave carved into the limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and the Latomie dei Cappuccini, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural beauty as well as its landscape, are worth a visit. Not to be overlooked is Noto, the seafront with the tuna fishery of Avola, and finally the seaside village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to explore and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures to fill your eyes with.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is about 66 km away, and Comiso Pio La Torre airport is 111 km away. The Syracuse train station is a 10-minute drive from Ortigia.

We absolutely loved this apartment in Ortigia! The location and view were fabulous, and it had three bedrooms and three bathrooms and also an elevator in the building. Our only issues were that one shower wasn’t working, and the response time on communication was sometimes one or more days through the management company. Also, it would’ve been helpful if there was a manual to explain how the air conditioning units work. Many things were documented digitally online, but there were not detailed instructions on how to control the air conditioner so we had challenges with that in all of the rooms, as every unit was different. We also had questions regarding trash disposal that were not really answered, but we asked people in stores nearby and were able to figure it out. Those issues were all relatively minor though and all the wonderful things about the apartment more than made up for the small issues.

Beautiful view. Excellent 3 bed 3 bath basic apartment. Bed was comfortable. They were very flexible with checkin.

The host was great. We arrived before check-in and they were so kind to allow us to get into the apartment early. The view is truly stunning! But the apartment could use a little attention. It should have a smart TV. The signal on the TV comes and goes, which made watching the Olympic Games frustrating. Would have been nice to sign into our own Netflix or Prime accounts in the evenings. Some end tables for the sofas and lamps would help. No coffee is provided, no paper towels or even a dish towel. The wine opener was broken (I left a new one), no ice trays and the freezer needed defrosting. No soap dishes for two of the showers, so nowhere to put shampoo, etc. except on the shower floor. This apartment is sparse. But, it’s also very clean, spacious and, that view is priceless. Really, a few hundred euros could elevate it into something fabulous. The location is just a short walk to the heart of Ortigia and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The elevator was a big help and the building is very safe and the nights were quiet in the bedrooms away from the seafront. We are glad we stayed and the price is extremely fair for such a great view and location.

The location of this apartment was very convenient and a bit off of the main area of shops and eateries in beautiful Ortigia. The apartment has been updated in the last decade, but seems worn around the edges. The AC unit in the living room area was struggling ro chill that area. The bedroom AC units were very effective which was helpful at night. Unfortunately there is a complete gut and renovation of the adjoining building. Construction starts at 7 AM everyday and is extremely loud demolition work (sledgehammers and power saws). This construction was happening on the wall that 2 of the 3 bedrooms adjoin. Sleeping in past 7 AM was simply not an option, which is tough when youre in a place where dinner ends at 11pm or midnight. The water pressure in the third bathroom was also super low, you could barely wash your hands in that sink, let alone use the shower. The kitchen was large and well appointed with plenty of plates and glasses etc. It was also very helpful to have laundry available in unit with a large drying rack provided. The ocean view was pretty, but with the summer heat, construction, and lack of balcony it was difficult to enjoy.
