Nestled by the babbling Blackwater River and 100 yards from the banks of Pleasant Lake, the Dam Cottage is located in the heart of the quaint Elkins Village. In its 100-year history, the cottage was a mill, the Scytheville Post Office, and a flower shop. Now it is a cozy retreat and a perfect base for your next ski trip, or for swimming, boating, or taking in the sunset. The cottage is a short drive from Ragged, Sunapee, and Pats Peak Mountains, and a short walk to the beach and boat put-in. The cottage itself is bright and clean and ready to host your next getaway. Very comfortable accommodations and the little extras were a nice surprise. Cupboards were stocked with coffee and tea, olive oil, spices, ziplock bags and aluminum foil. Things that you might need once or twice during your stay but forget to buy or bring. The host responded quickly to communication both before and during our stay. There was a mix-up with towels that was quickly resolved I would definitely recommend and will stay again if I’m looking for accommodations in the area.

Really nice stay, the place was clean and Steph replied to my messages very quickly and was very helpful. Beautiful location as well and basic necessities provided.

This cabin was very pleasant. Very roomy and full equipped kitchen. Coffee, mugs and all. The beds were so comfortable and having a washer and dryer made it convenient. They even had laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!!

The house was comfortable.make sure you bring your electronic wall charger plugs. We did. Heat worked well.Beds were comfortable. Had a musty smell every time you came in to the place. But would soon disappear. Could use a rubber Matt in the bathtub. I fell in the shower. But all is well. A very nice relaxing place.
