Such an awesome stay - the condo was exactly as described, in the best location on the beach. The staff are lovely, the pool is gorgeous and the few bars and restaurants just steps away were fantastic. El Faro is one of my favorite places to stay in Mexico - cannot wait to come back!

This was the first time traveling with my parents to this Playa del Carmen, and they loved every minute of their stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.
Excellent views, privacy, and fantastic location.

Disappointing Stay – Not as Advertised
Upon arrival, we were informed that our confirmed reservation could not be found in the receptionist's system, creating unnecessary stress at check-in. We were in the process of paying for the stay ourselves because the host had not yet submitted payment. Fortunately, the host eventually responded, and the receptionist was able to verify and receive payment.
During our stay, the electricity went out for several hours, leaving the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the property listing photos were very misleading. The advertised images showed beautiful blue ocean water, but the actual beach was covered in large amounts of sargassum seaweed, accompanied by a strong drainage/sewage odor.
While the staff ultimately resolved the reservation issue, the overall experience did not match the expectations created by the listing. Greater accuracy in advertising and better communication regarding reservation management would significantly improve the guest experience.
