Be the lord or lady of this remarkable estate, one of the best-known properties in Lower Hutt. It is very private yet only 15 minutes away from Wellington CBD.
Your grand tour of this magnificent spot begins at the grand gates and takes you one km up a paved scenic driveway, passing 2 sparkling waterfalls on the way. The main house has been greatly enlarged and upgraded. Tudor-style, it features four generous bedrooms, including an upper-level master suite, many living & lounge areas, both formal and informal. There are also another two out-bedrooms. At every step, this home exudes quality: carara ceilings, jarra/matai floors, timber wall panels, inbuilt seating and lovely leadlight windows. The four bathrooms are situated internally, along with a games room with its own bar. The wine cellar & the huge farm-style kitchen is an entertainer’s dream. Well-insulated, the house is warm & comfortable.
In addition, the plantings on this property have been celebrated for almost a century. Tree ferns, cabbage trees, rhododendrons, avocados, walnuts & nikau palms are all well-established. Birdlife abounds, with tuis, fantails, wax-eyes & kingfishers, while monarch butterflies flutter by. The outdoor entertaining area is welcoming with a fireplace & a built-in barbecue in your own private piece of paradise.
***Please note that it is a minimum of two night stay on weekends.
***We DO NOT allow pets at our property.
*** For special events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate retreats, family celebrations, different rates apply and the cleaning charge is $200. There’s also a bond for events.
***The advertised price is for accommodation only and it’s for 10 people and seven beds. Any additional person incurs a fee of $50 each per night.

The drive up to the manor was hard to manoeuvre in certain areas due to us having a 12 seater transit van. We had alot of wet weather during our stay so had alot of water and debris on the driveway also.In saying that, the manor was exactly what we wanted. It had enough space to accomodate all of us, it was clean, tidy and the grounds and surroundings were very tranquil. The home had everything we needed including pots, pans etc to ensure we could have home cooked meals. The beds were super comfortable and all rooms had spare blankets which we used during the storms. The house had 3 floors but didnt take long to heat up during the cold weather. There were 2 main bathrooms for us to shower in and 2 extra toilets which was very handy. We had an issue with the bottom gate and were able to contact the owner and resolve the issue straight away. Communication was fantastic. I would definately recommend the property and will look at returning next time we are in Wellington.

no pets allowed even though they say it is pet friendly.house needs a deep clean in the shower areas.water needs to be sorted ASAP. no pressure in top bathroom.
