This charming cabin is located just outside the lovely Village of Northport. Cedar Post is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin that can accommodate up to four guests, ideally two singles, a couple, or a couple with a small child.
The cabin includes a kitchen and main living area combined with a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator and stove. The living room features a futon for additional sleeping space, while the bedroom contains one queen-sized bed. Amenities include cable, WIFI, and a window A/C unit in the bedroom.
Outside, guests can enjoy a gas grill and picnic table for outdoor dining. For those who prefer not to cook Northport offers various dining options and takeout restaurants. This last weekend was our second visit to this site. It’s a great place to stay because of the location. It’s near enough to all of the popular site seeing spots without all of the business. Northport is a neat little town with lots of character.

The location was excellent - within driving distance of other beautiful scenic areas in addition to Northport. The cabin was clean, well-stocked, comfortable and ready for immediate occupancy on my arrival. My overall experience here was great. There were 3 minor issues to bring to your attention. (1)There was a problem with large black ants throughout the cabin interior. (2) I appreciated the well stocked kitchen utensils, including a microwave. However, the dishes provided were not intended for microwave use. (3) The directions for the dumpster location were not clear (to me). The “paved road” in the instructions is marked with a “Private Drive” sign and the dumpster was not visible as it was placed to the side in the gravel circle at the end of this drive. I did manage to locate it eventually. But as noted, these were minor issues. Overall it was an excellent vacation adventure.

The cabin was very clean, and cutely decorated, but privacy was greatly lacking. They say this sleeps 4, but the futon that pulls out into a bed is in the living room where there is NO curtain or any kind on the front door! Plus, every curtain in the cabin was sheer without any blinds. Not private at all.
The short walk to Northport is not walker friendly. There is no sidewalk and the road winds around bends... I do not want to take the chance of getting hit by someone who isn't paying attention on the road.
If you rent this cabin, be sure you bring EVERYTHING you might need. You will not be provided shampoo or conditioner. There isn't anything above bare bones basics in the kitchen (bring your own salt and pepper)! And the oven does not work. The biggest frustration was trying to access the cabin at check-in. I busted open my thumb nail trying to open the hide-a-key box! They i was told when I called that it sticks sometimes. You have to pull hard. I did! Fix it!!! In fact, for paying over $600 for two nights, update your entry! I have rented better places that offered keyless entries. This has not been updated in over 20 years. I had to use the spare key hidden on the left side of the house to access the rental I had paid for. I expected a lot more for what I paid.
