If you are interested in culture, it is good to know that the nearby village of Barbariga was named after the Venetian nobleman Barbarigo. On the edge of the old Roman road that runs below the village of Batvaci is the small church of St Foka. This basilica is decorated with frescoes from the 12th century and is one of the oldest in Istria.
