A villa with over 300 years of history
Villa Bellavista is much more than a beautiful sea-view residence. It is a remarkable historic property with a fascinating architectural heritage.
Originally constructed in the early 1700s as a panoramic lookout tower surrounded by terraced lemon groves, the building was transformed in 1875 into a sacred chapel dedicated to the Madonna of Lone, following the abandonment of the nearby church.
The beautiful vaulted ceiling decorations and frescoes preserved throughout the property date back to this period.
Around 1920, the chapel was converted into a private residence. In 2010, extensive restoration work carefully preserved the original architectural features, including impressive walls approximately 160 cm thick and the historic decorations of the former chapel.
In 2019, the villa underwent a complete renovation of its interiors, furnishings, and outdoor areas while retaining its authentic historic character.
Thanks to its distinctive architecture and beautiful frescoes, Villa Bellavista has been featured in publications dedicated to the history and culture of Amalfi.
