A Little About Our Piece of Paradise
Welcome to our special corner of Maui. Our family's connection to the Kulakane began more than 30 years ago, when we first started vacationing here with my parents and our two sons. What began as an annual summer tradition quickly became a cherished part of our lives.
Nearly 20 years ago, my parents purchased Units 108 and 109, and ever since then, my husband, Marshall, and I have been fortunate to call these beautiful oceanfront condos our home away from home. We now spend three to five months here each year, enjoying everything that makes the Kulakane so special.
What we treasure most is the sense of 'ohana, the Hawaiian spirit of family and community. Over the years, we've met many wonderful guests and owners who return year after year, creating lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. There's a warmth and connection here that makes the Kulakane feel much more than a vacation destination.

I have stayed many times at this property and I will stay again. But not in this unit. The regular manager was out the week that we were there, and she is very attentive normally. The bed was so horrible I had to sleep on the couch for a week. I thought it was one of those adjustable air mattresses so I looked everywhere for a remote control. I emailed the info desk and never received a response. Additionally, I don't feel like the unit was cleaned very well. There were ants/bugs in the kitchen and bathroom, which do go away with normal spraying treatment. I gutted the kitchen and scrubbed the entire thing and sprayed for ants and mostly they went away. But I found several areas that had crumbs under a table and it just wasn't cleaned thoroughly. I think this happened partly because of the extreme amount of furniture and pillows loaded into this unit. It was stuffed full! I ended up packing half the furniture and pillows out of the way so I could be comfortable. It was just too much. As I've said, I have stayed at this property multiple times and the management and location is outstanding. But this unit needs some help.
