Nemo's Retreat at First Flight Retreat — Oceanfront for You, Your Person, and Your Dog
Finding a stylish oceanfront condo is easy. Finding one sized for two that also welcomes your dog? That's Nemo's Retreat. This freshly updated 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo is the rare right-sized escape where the whole household comes along — dogs welcome ($150 plus tax per dog, maximum of 2).
Updated, Warm, and Ocean-First
Breathtaking ocean views greet you at the door, set off by stunning mahogany tile flooring and a wave of thoughtful updates — new area rug, coffee table, side tables, lamps, kitchen table, and a Roku TV in the bedroom. Slide open the door to your private oceanfront balcony, where a pub table and chairs wait for morning coffee from the Keurig while the sunrise does its thing over the Atlantic.
A queen sleeper sofa in the living room adds space for an extra guest or two, and an in-unit washer and dryer plus free Wi-Fi cover the practical side. The beach is an easy stroll, the fitness room is close by, and the community pool runs seasonally (tentatively May 23 through October 11 for 2026). Elevator access is available (the elevator is a community amenity, not controlled by the homeowner, and cannot be guaranteed).
Escape, unwind, and let the waves set the schedule.

The property was very welcoming to pet. We had a nice oceanfront view

Winter quiet getaway during COVID. Everything worked and was as stated. Beautiful beach. Couch is not very comfortable due to years of service but clean.

My husband and I had not visited the Outerbank yet and chose a long off season weekend to explore. Kill Devil Hills was very convenient for short exploratory excursions north one day and south the next. The condo made visiting during COVID very safe. We had lots of take out options available. One note of caution, the code on the door changes before 10:00 am departure date and we almost locked ourselves out while loading up. We will recommend First Flight condos to our friends in the DC area.

We loved the location but the condo needs some maintenance . Our bed was horrible. The mattress and boxspring is in desperate need of replacement. We will return in the future but only if the bed is replaced.
