A detached lodge with a large enclosed garden and secluded patio sitting-area with chimnea, a lovely spot to relax after a day’s exploring.. 1 step to entrance.

Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi (for checking emails and light browsing) included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. . Large, enclosed garden with patio, chiminea and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Buttercup Lodge is a charming little lodge, ideal for couples, with uninterrupted views across open fields towards Warkworth Castle. Set in the owners’ grounds, this detached lodge with a large enclosed garden and secluded patio sitting-area with chimnea to the front, is a lovely spot to relax after a day’s exploring. In a peaceful location only 2 miles from Amble, it is an ideal base from which to explore the many visitor attractions throughout this friendly and unspoilt county. Amble, reputedly ’the friendliest port’, has a working harbour with boat trips to Coquet Island, a sandy beach and a bustling Sunday market with some excellent seafood eateries and fish and chip shops. A short drive takes you to the popular Druridge Bay Nature Resort. This ideally located holiday home offers a superb base from which to explore the magnificent Heritage Coast, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit Craster, famous for its smoked kippers and glorious walk along the cliff-top to Dunstanburgh Castle. It is only a few miles from Alnwick, with its famous castle used in Harry Potter and in Downton Abbey. A great central base from which to explore the whole of this unspoilt county from Hadrian’s Wall to the National Park and back to the coast again. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles

we have just returned from buttercup cottage and were very sorry to leave there is everything you possibly need there thebed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in it was like a home from home, very quiet and peaceful with spectacular views and the horse called the hooligan is a character and loves to stick his head over the fence for an apple or a carrot. we very much look forward to returning

Local amenities were not required — we were there to be in touch with family in Amble.
Due to all Covid restrictions and self preservation, we ate all our meals in the lodge and found Kitchen equipment perfect. Chiller in fridge kept small quantities of food frozen till required; supermarket delivered straight to door.

Friendly reception, good Covid precautions, good advice about local attractions. All facilities as promised in the booking. Views over field to Warkworth Castle in distance. Best of all on most days (sometimes both morning and evening) we saw a barn owl (sometimes 2 barn owls) hunting in the field. Once we got a close-up view of the owl flying to a nearby post to consume it's prey. Super. Once we saw a fox trot through the field. Very convenient location for lots of local attractions (eg Alnwick, Druridge Bay, Hauxley nature reserve, Cragside).

Buttercup lodge is on its own with an enclosed garden. Country walks from the door to Amble, Warkworth, Druridge Bay. With the delightful village of Alnmouth a short drive away.
