Alston with cobble streets is close to this lovely cottage with open fire, Hadrian’s Wall and Roman fort easily reached.. All on the Ground Floor:

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Fuel for open fire included. Smoking permitted.. All properties: Biomass central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. External utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer (shared). Barbecue available on request (shared). Hot tub (shared with other properties on-site on a rota basis). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. . These three, 18th century barn conversions, (refs 80043, 28645, 28646) are located just 1 mile from the market town of Alston, one of the highest towns in the country and a charming backdrop to many a period film and TV series. Situated behind the owner’s home, these holiday cottages offer comfortable accommodation with their own sitting-out areas.
Guests have shared use of the hot tub where views can be enjoyed towards Mount Hooley and over the South Tyne Valley. The changing landscape throughout the seasons makes for picturesque views all year round. After a day out exploring this delightful area, what better way to soak those tired limbs and relax.
This is a good base for exploring Tynedale and the North Pennines by foot, bicycle or car, with many places of interest to visit, including Alston’s narrow gauge railway, Pennine Pottery and local crafts. The Pennine Way runs past the door, with walks in all directions. Alston, with its quaint cobbled main street, has a range of individual shops, character inns, restaurants and tea rooms. Within the area is an historical Roman fort and tourists will enjoy the museums, exhibitions and sites along Hadrian’s Wall. The Lake District, Beamish Museum, Newcastle, the Metro Centre, Carlisle and the Scottish Borders are all within driving distance. Amazing holiday in one of the cottages.- Milking Parlour. Comfortable, spacious and great location if you are looking for a remote place, yet still close to a village. Hosts are also lovely and helpful. We loved our stay, thank you very much!Our recommendations are - change the electric shower as the pressure is absolutely terrible and for someone with long hair, it is almost impossible to wash the hair. - check the smell coming from under the sink- the radiator in the bathroom is noisy when the heating comes on, for a day we thought there is a washing machine above us, however it is most likely that your valves to the radiator are not being fitted correctly. Noise stops when the radiator is switched off.

Fantastic break away in this lovely cottage. So relaxing... The milking parlour was So clean and had everything we needed. Lovely owners very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. so Fabulous would highly recommend. Thankyou very much we didn't want to come home would definitely stay again very happy 😊 😀 just Perfect
