A quaint property located in the scenic village of Longnor, bursting with original cottage character. The perfect base for guests looking for somewhere comfortable and cosy to return to.. 4 steps to entrance.
Ground Floor:
Living room: Smart TV, Woodburner
Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge, Dishwasher
First Floor:
Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Front garden with sitting out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note. The steep stone staircase may not be suitable for less mobile visitors.. This cottage, although quaint and cosy is the perfect size for a couples Peak District get-away. As you enter into the property into the sitting room, you are greeted by a warming log burner, along with comfortable seating, Smart TV and a dining table with two chairs. In the kitchen are all the appliances you should require including a dishwasher and free cupboard space to store anything you want to bring with you. On the first floor is the spacious bathroom, featuring bath with overhead shower, and the king-size bedroom with views of the village. Outside there is parking to the rear for one car, and to the front of the property is a small private garden with bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine.
The village of Longnor is a great base to be, offering a traditional village atmosphere and beautiful views. The local village pub, only a couple of minutes’ walk away, has recently been refurbished and is opening again in August 2023. Outside of Longnor your nearest town is Buxton offering cafes, many delicious restaurants and great bars, plus the Opera House and Gardens. In the opposite direction is the town of Leek which is great for your high street shops. There is ample walking from your doorstep in Longnor with many trails to explore along with many more activities around you.

Lovely clean cottage, lovely location to visit the Peak District

Loved our week at Gem Cottage. Cottage was smaller than I expected but actually fine for two people (&dog). It had everything we needed (apart from glass cleaner for the fire). It was a warm and cosy cottage but does have a flagstone floor so remember those slippers! Bed was lovely and comfy. Shower was rubbish but had a nice long bath with plenty of hot water. Biscuits and chocolates were a nice little touch thanks, as were the doggy treats!! Communication with the owners was also very good.Great location, with Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on the doorstep. Gorgeous food with cosy ambiance. A visit to Haddon Hall is a must, especially their Christmas market. We were lucky to have snow while we were there. The scenery was amazing, which I’ll never forget.One thing to point out…… stairs are very steep, as are the front garden steps so be mindful before booking. Overall a great, well needed break. Thank you!!

Lovely location and very neat and tidy cottage. Added bonus of off-road parking.
