This is a great apartment if you want to be in close walking distance of many tourist attractions. It was very clean and had enough space for us to spread out our belongings. Our teenage daughter slept on the sofa bed. If we had both our daughters with us, it would’ve been a bit more difficult as they would not have fit on the sofa bed very well and one side was very soft. Plan out your showers carefully so you don’t run out of hot water! There are not a lot of big windows in this apartment, in fact, some are super tiny. This did not bother us, but might bother some. I think this is the only inaccuracy in the listing as the windows are mostly small and there is no real spectacular view. The lack of windows did increase the soundproofing though! There is now also a newly installed elevator in the building, which is not reflected in the ad listing. A nice bonus! The host communicated exceptionally well and was waiting for us in the apartment on our arrival to give us a quick rundown.

Loved staying here! The location is excellent, steps away from the Opera metro station, a few blocks from the Palace, and a pleasant 1km walk to the Prado museum and botanical garden. Wander around old town with its social life, restaurants and shops. Furnishings in this 1 bedroom apartment were simple but comfortable, clean, kitchen had everything I needed, all appliances and plumbing worked perfectly. It’s on the top floor with an elevator (a rare find in these historic buildings). Maria my host was very responsive and helpful, such as turning up the heat when nights were unexpectedly cold in March, and even ordering me a taxi. A great stay.

This apartment is in an excellent location, so close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol but the street is quiet. It's nice to be there with two people because the bedroom is down a long hallway and private so you can be in the living room or kitchen and not disturb someone sleeping. The neighbors were a little noisy one night but they quieted down when asked. The amenities are very basic, nothing fancy but such a great value. And great communication from the host! (I only wish there were more hooks or some other place in the living room to put clothes/items in the living room besides the table.) and more coat hooks! Highly recommend.

Pros: Excellent location and comfortable bed. Marisol, the contact person, was very helpful.
Cons: The apartment was not very well maintained or equipped . The television didn’t work, we had only half a roll of toilet paper, no wash cloths, very little space in bathroom. To adjust the heat in the apartment, you had to call Marisol who then had to call the owner who controlled the heat electronically.
