We traveled to Galena for Father's Day weekend with 6 adults. The property is as described as an 1800s mansion, it is unique, very large and beautiful. Jim is a great host, very responsive and attentive to details. Each bedroom comes with toiletries, hair dryers, extra linens, and towels, there is a Keurig in the kitchen with coffee, plenty of dishes for prepping or cooking and an ice maker. The entertainment room and parlor with bumper pool was a real treat. Downtown is a short stroll away and there was plenty of parking at the property. The house is old, so some of the doors you have to use the deadbolt to close because of the age of the wood, and don't expect to sneak around quietly as the floors give you away! Though that is character of an old house and we loved it. We joked a lot about all of the stairs as the kitchen, media room and a bedroom are on the second floor and the remaining bedrooms on the third so you will get your steps in! Galena is always a great town to visit and this mansion is perfect for a group.

This was such a unique and memorable place to stay. The mansion really makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, with so much character throughout. One of the many positives with this house is that most that most of the rooms had their own attached bathrooms—it made getting ready so much easier for a large group of girls.Check-in and check-out were both extremely simple, and the host was very responsive and easy to communicate with, which made the whole experience even smoother.The location was perfect—less than a 5-minute walk to downtown, just a quick and scenic walk across the bridge.We had a great stay and would absolutely come back again!

This was our second time of staying here. We love it! It’s great location to walk to town and love all the bathrooms, with ten women staying here it works out perfect! We also love the theater room, we watch our hometown football play at state the past two years! James is a great host! Thanks again!
