A building steeped in great history, literally exceptional, nestled in the very heart of the vineyard, a stone's throw from the Voie Verte! Authentic Romanesque chapel dating from 1453, carefully revisited as a comfortable holiday resort, nestled in a peaceful setting in a charming little wine-growing hamlet in the Côtes Chalonnaise, 4.5 km from the Cluisien site of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a peaceful medieval wine-growing village & merchant labeled Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (very many amenities on site including supermarket). Magnificent gentle surrounding hilly countryside, combining vineyards, bucolic bocages & wild forest massifs, nestled in the hollow of the green Grosne valley (protected area & classified as a "Natura 2000" zone for its remarkable ecosystem) at the crossroads of the vineyards of the upper Mâconnais & Côtes Chalonnaises (first vines 100m from the gîte!). Ultra privileged location on the routes of the Voie Verte, a marked cycle route leading to the famous "Canal du Centre", a "favorite cycle loop" of 26 km (two other routes of the same type, of 24 & 27 km, accessible within 8 km), the "Burgundy Wine Route", the circuit of Romanesque churches & several hiking trails marked as "green walks" (vast network of hiking trails of this type, winding between vineyards & nature, to be explored in the area), 3.5 km from the GR76 & 14 km from the renowned GTM (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne) mountain bike route. Prime central location in the heart of southern Burgundy, at the crossroads of Chalonnais, Tournugeois-Clunisois (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), Mâconnais & Charollais-Brionnais (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"). Art and History"), splendid preserved territories all rich in sublime landscapes, renowned gastronomy as well as an exceptional historical heritage (notably medieval & Romanesque). Ideal for easily getting around: 16 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community), 17 km from the medieval city of Brancion, 25 km from Tournus (A6 on site), 23 km from the illustrious abbey city of Cluny, 26 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled City of Art and History), 36 km from Le Creusot (renowned amusement park of Les Combes / Creusot TGV station 30 km away), 46 km from the sumptuous landscaped jewel of Les Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labeled Grand Site de France, 47 km from Charolles, 50 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 46 km) & 51 km from Louhans. The perfect cocoon for an exotic stay "immersed in the heart of the village & vineyards", for lovers or family, with a bonus pétanque court! A literal little paradise for cyclists of all stripes! Madeleine & Bernard open the doors of a very rare authentic 15th century Romanesque chapel steeped in history (exceptional "desacralized" heritage building, family property for 5 generations), very carefully rehabilitated (having preserved its lava stone roof among other original architectural riches), nestled quietly on the edge of a small alley, a stone's throw from the very first vineyards, in the heart of a picturesque, peaceful little wine-growing hamlet, perfectly preserved, not far from the center of the village of Saint -Boil (listed Romanesque church from the 10th century, unusual former Gallo-Roman sculpture quarry dating from the 3rd century, majestic railway viaduct with 16 arches from the late 19th century...to discover). Total tranquility in the heart of the Côtes Chalonnaises & its gentle hilly countryside combining magnificent vineyard hillsides, bucolic bocage meadows and vast wild forests, between nature, viticulture & agriculture.
