Secluded cabin nestled between the peaks of Doublehead Mountain at an elevation of 4000 ft. overlooking our private 1 acre stocked pond. Located in North Carolina's High Country and surrounded by 100+ acres of private land perfect for nature lovers and bird watching. There are several miles of hiking trails throughout the property that are perfect for exploring. Wildlife sightings include black bear, whitetail deer, wild turkey and many bird species including Canadian geese. After hiking and exploring build a fire in the fire pit to unwind. Enjoy quiet relaxation but be within 30 miles of a myriad of area attractions which include Grandfather Mountain, Mount Mitchell, Roan Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, Linville Caverns, Linville Falls & Gorge. Winters enjoy skiing at Beech, Sugar and Hawksnest ski resorts. In the summers enjoy white water rafting, horseback riding, zip lining and many other activities. Whatever season you choose, nowhere else will give you such peace as our unique tranquil private retreat atop Doublehead Mountain!

We loved our stay and the property was perfect. Beautiful, secluded, private, lots of space to roam. The host was extremely responsive and the cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Perfect place for some much needed R&R. Our dogs loved their freedom and room to roam. Highly recommend for time to relax and enjoy nature. We hope to stay here again soon!

We had a great time and really enjoyed the peace and quite. We enjoyed coffee on the porch each morning and got to see deer, rabbit, humming birds and a wild turkey. It had all the comforts of home including a charcoal grill that we used. I was happy to disconnect from wi-fi a few days and just enjoy the outdoors. The stocked pond was just a short walk and we caught a couple fish. Our 2 dogs loved the big yard to run around and play, I would definitely go back again.

We were entirely unable to reach the cabin, as the gravel access road was too steep and sandy. I let the host know it needs to be more than a “recommendation” that folks will need 4-wheel drive. The listing said people without it had managed but we could not. We had to scramble to find alternate lodging and it was a frightening experience, along with losing the entire cost. I feel bad I am unable to answer some of the survey responses, but I want to be sure others get an accurate idea.
