Located on the banks of the 1st category river, L'Atelier du Meunier is located in the middle of a green garden, on the edge of the forest, in a Natura 2000 area, in the middle of the Livradois Forez Regional Natural Park. The Forez is a mid-mountain range (up to 1600 m) and the Livradois, a hilly plateau with Mediterranean influences, part of which is nicknamed "the Auvergne Tuscany".
L'Atelier is 8 km from the town of Courpière where all the shops are located and 20 minutes from Thiers. Many local producers also sell their products directly.
Cycling, mountain biking and hiking of all types (many loops described in the guidebooks), rental of electrically assisted bicycles in Aubusson d'Auvergne, swimming, canoeing and pedal boats at the lake, fishing in the lake, the many rivers or ponds, visiting the many castles of the region: Aulteribe, La Barge, Vollore-Ville, Fortress of Mauzun... Thiers, the capital of knives and its many cutlers, and an hour's drive away is Vulcania, the volcano of Lemptégy and the Puy de Dôme.
On the first floor, the Atelier can accommodate from 1 to 4 people. Access is either by a staircase or by a small path that must be tamed. The total surface area is about 45 m² (not very suitable for people with reduced mobility).
A large living room with its integrated kitchenette and a living room, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a small bedroom with a double bed (140). Two 80 beds are available in the large room.
