Our vacation rental is a small, charming apartment located on the first floor of a building in Rome at Via Vercelli 5, a wide street that—despite being in the very central neighborhood of S. Giovanni—is very peaceful and quiet. The apartment consists of a living area with a kitchenette, a spacious bedroom, and a comfortable bathroom where you’ll also find a complimentary toiletries kit (shampoo/body wash, shaving kit, oral care kit). A comfortable crib for children up to three years old is available in the bedroom upon request. The kitchen area is equipped with a fridge-freezer, an electric stove, an oven, a dishwasher, and an espresso machine. This area, equipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy breakfast and meals, features a large table for four people and a comfortable armchair. The home is also equipped with Wi-Fi, a smart TV (with Netflix), air conditioning, central heating, and a washing machine. The residence was designed and furnished with the goal of providing our guests with a comfortable and home-like environment. We wanted to create the conditions so that those staying here for a vacation in Rome would have the comforts, the atmosphere, and the feeling of being… at home. Our staff will also be happy to provide you with all the necessary information for exploring the San Giovanni neighborhood, one of the most elegant in the capital.
We are located in the heart of the elegant San Giovanni neighborhood, and just a short distance away, on the prestigious Via Appia, you’ll find all the services and shops you need: supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, hair salons, beauty salons, clothing stores, and shopping centers. Countless establishments will also satisfy your culinary desires, including restaurants (serving traditional Roman cuisine or ethnic dishes), pizzerias, bars, wine bars, and ice cream shops. The “Alcinque” vacation home is a strategic (…and ideal) starting point for reaching the entire historic center on foot or by public transportation (Metro Line A, Metro Line C, buses). With a pleasant 40-minute walk (2.3 km), passing through Via Cerveteri, Piazza Tuscolo, Via Gallia, and Via della Navicella, you can also reach the Colosseum, and from there you’re practically in the heart of Rome’s historic center: Via dei Fori Imperiali, Trajan’s Market, Piazza Venezia, and Via del Corso. If you arrive in Rome by train, you can reach “your” accommodation by metro (Line “A”). After just 4 stops, get off at “Re di Roma,” and after walking only 100 meters (3 minutes), you’ve already arrived!! If, on the other hand, you’re arriving in Rome by car via the highway loop, take Exit 23 (Appio-S. Giovanni) and, driving all the way along Via Appia, head toward “Roma Centro.” Once you reach Piazza Re di Roma, you’re almost there. Here, if needed, you’ll find a convenient paid public parking lot (open 24 hours a day) located right on Piazza Vercelli (60 meters from your destination), offering both day and night parking. Finally, from Via Vercelli, you can set out to visit the four basilicas during the Jubilee Year on a tour (...even in the evening) that starts at St. John’s and takes you—even on foot—to Santa Maria Maggiore (in 25 minutes) and from there, by public transportation, to St. Peter’s and St. Paul Outside the Walls.
