UPDATE AFTER HOTEL RESPONSE: I disagree. Most of what we found is NOT visible from room photos ie: Noisy toilet, cheap bed, broken bedside light, old shower cubicle, ‘tired’ carpeting, very slow water flow in sink, The only thing visible from pics is the lack of space round the bed. But our complsint about that stands because what’s not visible is that the bed could easily be moved to a wider area, eg seating area, to allow at least 1 bedside table. Even in bed’s current position, 2 small wall-mounted shelves could be provided - big enough to hold a bottle of water, phone, book. Clearly the building is very old, which is part of its charm & why we liked it. So we did not complain about the rickety steep stairs, the uneven floors, the bathroom coldness due to lack of insulation, the fact that this old hotel is not as clean as a modern one, the pervasive Indian cooking smells. We expected & accepted all that. What we don’t accept is your attempt to use 1 bed photo as an excuse for all the other shortcomings that we found in the flesh - all totally invisible on that 1 photo. Arrival - haphazard! Staff friendly but had to wait too long for them to work out what to do with us! Room - very outdated (but largely clean) bathroom with noisy toilet, small, old shower cubicle, cheap-feeling double mattress, lack of bedside lights (1 completely broken, the other working but very harsh, unsuitable light), Bed - squeezed into the narrowest part of the room, with hardly enough space to get out on 1 side & absolutely no space on the other. No bedside table or even a shelf. If room to continue to be sold as a double, it needs to be completely reorganised to provide at least 1 bedside table. Or small shelves on wall either side of bed. If that’s not done - the bed needs to be replaced with a better quality single & sold as single bedroom. This sort of bedroom arrangement might have been acceptable to guests 50 years ago - but not now & not at the price charged.

The location is ideal, the breakfast was excellent.

I travelled with my dog, and I was mildly disappointed that the rooms were upstairs, because of the difficulty of getting her up and down stairs.

Location was good to get about in Norfolk

Unfortunately we had a room which was not very clean, carpets needed hoovering. Window was broken and glass missing, we reported it to the staff but had to wait till the following day before it was taped over. Tried to have a meal in the restaurant but I requested 2 items from the menu but neither was available. It is a curry menu with very few other options. Breakfast was ok but they lack staff and how to serve food properly. They did apologise and offered us free drinks in the evening. I think the owners are trying to get the place running better but need help.
