The apartment was modern and nicely presented, with a great location. Collecting the keys was very easy, and Stephen's communication was excellent throughout.

There were a number of issues, including steep stairs that weren't clearly highlighted in the listing, a warped apartment door that was difficult to open and close, insufficient hanging space for clothes, missing light bulbs and no liquid soap. A lack of blinds on the skylights meant the sun streamed through in the morning, which is frustrating when you are trying to sleep. The shower in the master bedroom also failed to drain properly and flooded, forcing us to finish showering in the other bathroom. Overall, the apartment felt as though it had been made available to guests before all the practical issues had been properly addressed. However, I feel confident the property manager, who was extremely responsive, will work to rectify these niggles.

Missing lots of small things that added up to becoming a nuisance. No hand soap, missing light bulbs for most lamps, no shower wash/shampoo included. No mirrors in any of the rooms for getting ready. No dish cloths to wash up with. It did feel like a new house that someone only moved into a few days ago.

The Penthouse is stunning! Great use of layout, beautiful furniture and accessories - having two bathrooms is a great feature. It is in a fabulous position to explore Leyburn and surrounding areas. Plenty of free parking nearby.

Although the Penthouse is stunning it just needs fine tuning to be a perfect holiday spot. It was very clean but the communal hallway was a big let down with unboxed electrics (guessing recent improvement work completed?) and quite grubby with something sticky spilled on the access stairs that remained for the duration of our two night stay plus stair nose trims coming loose. Just one hand towel left between 4 guests (informed owner via booking but not rectified during our stay) and no light bulbs in the bedside lamps in one of the bedrooms. Another review had already pointed out it needs wardrobes as nowhere to hang clothes. None of these are huge things and didn't spoil our stay at all but are things the owner can hopefully sort for the next set of guests 🙂
