A gem nestled between freshand saltwater
The Gulfhof on Lake Wangermeer is situated in a secluded location in the small village of Gottels near
Hohenkirchen.
It is a Gulfhof that is several hundred years old, which was renovated in accordance with historic preservation guidelines and converted into vacation apartments.
Due to its small number of units (8) and its secluded location in the middle of the fields, it offers peace, privacy, and seclusion. Nevertheless, the nearest larger town, Hohenirchen, is only 600 m away.
The location:
“Within walking distance of Lake Wangermeer, not far from the North Sea”
The Wangermeer, a freshwater lake with a surface area of 66 ha, is just 400 m away and offers opportunities for all kinds of water sports (surfing, boating, fishing, swimming).
The beaches at Schillig and Hooksiel, which are among the most beautiful on the North Sea coast, are only about 7–8 km away.
Hinnerk’s Huus
Our vacation rental “Hinnerks Huus” accommodates up to 6 people and features a modern, open-concept living/dining area as well as high-quality furnishings and amenities.
From your parking space—equipped with a charging station—you’ll be guided to the front door via a private access path.
The terrace, perfectly oriented from west to south across the corner, offers fantastic, unobstructed views of the magnificent North Frisian landscape.
Look forward to enjoying breakfast at sunrise or dinner at sunset on this spacious terrace at the large wooden table (seats up to 8 people).
Inside, across two floors, you’ll find extremely luxurious and high-quality furnishings.
This includes real hardwood parquet flooring, underfloor heating, a smart TV, Bluetooth speakers (Teufel Station), a fully equipped kitchen, leather armchairs and chairs, solid wood furniture, a dishwasher, an espresso machine, a toaster, Wi-Fi, and much, much more.
Both the first floor and the first floor feature spacious bathrooms with rainforest showers and toilets, and the first floor also includes an additional bathtub.
There is also a Finnish sauna on the first floor.
The open-concept living/dining area creates a spacious atmosphere while also providing a certain degree of separation between the dining and living areas thanks to its well-thought-out layout.
The kitchen area is fully equipped with high-quality appliances, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment.
In addition, there is a small room on the first floor that can be used both as a workspace and as an additional small bedroom (sofa bed with a full-size mattress, 200 x 140 cm). The first floor area, as well as this bedroom and the ground-floor bathroom, are wheelchair accessible. There is only one step leading to the apartment’s entrance. A portable, foldable wheelchair ramp is included with the vacation rental.
In addition to a bathroom and sauna, the upper floor features two tastefully furnished bedrooms. One has a double bed (200 × 180 cm) and large west-facing windows, and the other also has a double bed (200 × 180 cm), with a skylight positioned directly above the bed that offers breathtaking views of the starry sky.
The Gulfhof, which has only a few units, offers recreational areas for both children and adults; the indoor areas are equipped with, among other things, wooden horses, a ping-pong table, and a foosball table.
In addition, there is a soccer field with two small goals and a fire pit.
Laundry facilities are available. The complex has a washing machine and dryer (for a fee).
You can park your vehicle in the parking space assigned to the apartment (with an electric charging station).
There is also a lockable storage room with an electrical outlet for storing bicycles and charging them if needed.
Thanks to the Gulfhof’s picturesque, secluded location and its excellent access to both the North Sea beaches at Schilling (approx. 8 km) and Hooksiell (approx. 7 km) and the 66-hectare freshwater lake Wangermeer—perfect for water sports and just 450 m away—you have the option to:
Endless relaxation and rejuvenation at a place of healing, or athletic activities of any kind, such as cycling on the well-developed network of bike paths or water sports.
The Gulfhof on Lake Wangermeer looks back on a history spanning over 200 years: It was built in 1819 by a wealthy farming family and served as a stately residence and working farm for generations. After standing vacant for several decades, the historic, preservation-listed farmstead was extensively renovated and brought back to life with great attention to detail. The old brickwork, the original wooden framework, and the massive beams were preserved—they continue to define the special atmosphere of the farmstead and each apartment to this day.
Behind the historic walls, eight unique vacation apartments have been created, combining modern comfort with timeless design. Warm oak floors, high-quality furnishings, thoughtful details, private saunas in some units, and a spacious garden with mature trees and an unobstructed southern view create an environment perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.
