Hotel Sarela Natura

The actual hotel itself and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, it is right next to a beautiful river and surrounded by trees, which having escaped from Mallorca in early September felt like paradise. The hotel itself is great, they have made sure that everything feels very green and natural. The bar area is good and we were really happy with our room, the bedding was soft and wonderful, and we loved the black out blinds. Nice touches like the coffee capsules being topped up each day were also appreciated. The breakfast is also excellent, especially the coffee, cakes and omelettes. The staff were very kind and friendly.

The automatic night lights in an open plan room were very bright and we woke each other up if we needed to get up in the night. The Booking.com description states that the hotel has a hot tub / jacuzzi which isn't true, it is only for the deluxe rooms. This should be removed to avoid disappointment for future clients. We think the hotel is fairly new but having the restaurant open in the evening would be a big plus, as it's a 35-40 minute walk or a bus /taxi ride to the centre. If we had the option to eat at the hotel in the evening, we would definitely have done it at least once!

The hotel was just so amazing with so many areas of interest. The mill and water flowing through it made it unique. The terrace area and bar was a delight to spend time having a drink. The staff were so friendly and accommodating.

The room, although delightful, was too small and as the shower, toilet and wash basin are part of the room it provided little privacy.

This is a lovely hotel. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was very friendly and goes to great lengths to be helpful, especially Lucia. The entire property is set up to feel like an oasis. WiFi great. Plenty of parking for cars. Some general observations: The “do not disturb” signs are made of flimsy paper that easily turn over to “clean room” side. Generally not something that I would cover in a review. However, because it flipped, my room was cleaned when I had all my belongings out including money. Staff was honest and nothing was taken. Just make sure you check that the sign is in the right position and understand that it might not stay that way. There are a lot of steps, elevators only available for a small number of rooms, most of the stairs do not have handrails and a number of stairs have no light at night. The location is fine if you have business at the university. But it’s a hike to any kind of neighborhood amenities like restaurants or bars. So be prepared to take taxis. Specific observations if you are walking the Camino (understanding that no hotel has any obligation to do things that help out pilgrims and this hotel may not be targeting that segment): Good location if you’re hiking to Finisterra but an extra 3k walk from the cathedral, which is not always what you want to do after you finish the Camino. Breakfast starts at 8 so tough to get out early. Unless you are eating dinner at the hotel, which starts at 2030, there are no food options at the hotel. No bar snacks, mini bar, gift shop with snacks so you should plan to eat off the property. This is challenging as there is not much near the hotel and even less open if you arrive on a Sunday. There is no option to do a full load of laundry. The closest laundry is .8 km. Bottom line: if you want to hang in solitude in a lovely resort-like place and don’t like the chaos of old town Santiago, this is a nice option.

Un lugar precioso y muy acogedor, a solo 20 minutos caminando del centro. El personal fue muy agradable, las habitaciones muy buenas y los jardines preciosos. Nos encantó la estancia; el desayuno y la cena estaban riquísimos.
