The host was abrupt and rather hostile upon checking out. Checking out felt like being thrown out

The lounge/kitchen set up, the stove and oven with both electric & gas plates. The cleanliness of the house. The WiFi was working very well. The cooking utensils and the fact that they were very clean. The lounge and the beautiful couch and tv. The curtains were also very clean and beautifully hanged. The stove, tv, fridge, taps and bathing were all working.

1. I wasn’t offered Megawatt but Calder court which isn’t what I had booked on booking.com. 2. I was offered an apartment on the first floor on Megawatt when we had agreed on booking.com that I was going to be on the ground floor as a disabled person. 3. However, after accepting the alternative ie Calder Court on ground floor they were several things that were out of order. I also expected a warm welcome from the host in person. 4. The front door’s lock was broken and couldn’t close unless locked. 5. There was no water on both the 7th & 8th so I didn’t bath for 2 days. I wasn’t told that I was supposed to work up and bath early as water was shared very early in the morning amongst guests and tenants because it was a community borehole. 6. The two window handles in the bedroom were broken and air was getting in the whole night and that caused me anxiety as the front door handle was also not closing unless locked. It locked but it was loose. 7. The bedroom mirror was broken. 8. The fact that I had booked Megawatt but was later swapped for Calder Court wasn’t fair at all because some things weren’t working. 9. I couldn’t sleep for 2 nights because of the tenants’ noise as well. 10. The washing machine/dryer looked new but refused to switch on. Later someone came and switched it on but there was something wrong at first. 11. He sent his worker to fix the problems but he couldn’t, because he came without the new things to replace the broken ones ie new front door lock, new window handles and new mirror. I didn’t have time for the back & forth. 12. The shower door handle was loose but the host fixed it after I had asked him how one was supposed to open it. 13. What I noticed later on was that the host’s workers and the host himself hadn’t checked to see whether everything was working prior to my coming in. 14. I asked for a refund and the host didn’t argue, he apologised for the inconvenience and refunded me my 16 days balance.
