The Wrey Arms

Stopped 2 nights at the Wrey Arms on business. What can I say, I am blown away by this place. The reception I received on arrival was phenomenal, warm and inviting. I felt like a member of their family coming to visit! The rooms are spotlessly clean and every amenity you need is there. A huge selection of drinks are provided. The bed is amazing so comfy. Then there was the food. Absolutely delicious and plenty of it. I must admit I am a sucker for good traditional pub grub and this didn't disappoint. The price of the food was really good too. Shall I look at stopping here again? You're damn right I will!!! And if you think of going Premier inn or Travelodge you're the one who's mad. Thanks to all who made me welcome.

Ongoing refurbishment project not impacting stay whatsoever. Freshly decorated internally. Hot shower. Parking. Variety of evening meal available. Nice 'feel' to premises. Good variety of beers. First time staying although pub known since 1970. Amended breakfast order freshly cooked, tasty and generous portions. Coffee. Chatting to Landlord. Not rushed at all. Interesting architectural themes of Tudor Revival building will be enhanced over time where practicable. Short walk downhill into Barnstaple with great views over surrounding countryside and Taw Estuary. Ideal location close to Tarka Trail and Rail Station.
