Hotel Chalets Chamarel

The view from the room terrace is unparalleled. The room itself was fresh and tastefully furnished. The dinner and breakfast were great quality and the servers were friendly. We would love to give this a 10 but for some issues we experienced.

The floor in the room could have been cleaner, as it looked like dirt had been mopped around the bathroom. The suite we were in is adjacent to another with the original connecting door which provided no sound proofing. You don’t have to imagine what your neighbours are up to as you can hear them at it. The pool next to the restaurant had presumably been heavily dosed with chlorine which caught in the back of our throats as we dined.

The view from the chalets are absolutely breathtaking. Probably one of the best views you could have in Mauritius and being in the nature to relax is something we really needed to end our trip. The staff were lovely and accomodating and were there to help or if we had any questions. The room was also nice and had a cosy feel.

A few negatives of the stay. Firstly, there were limited options at breakfast I definitely think that there could be more buffet options, but the food still tasted good. Secondly, it’s a little inconvenient as the only way to contact reception is via WhatsApp and sometimes there would be a long wait for a reply. Also the TV system in our room did not work, it is rather outdated (although TV isn’t our main concern) but we would have liked to be able to watch a movie here and there. Lastly, the hotel is definitely out of the way which was not an issue for us but could be for some. The road to get up the mountain is difficult and takes time to get up to the hotel. Some more signs pointing toward the chalets would be good too as we got lost. All in all, our stay was great! Just some improvement points.

Fantastic service level, ideal location for a short stay with great views & walkable attractions

The evening menu was the same for all the time we were there (4 nights) with the half board choices (others were available but at a surcharge) was slightly limiting. A small criticism but overall the offering & quality was excellent.

Die Aussicht und das geräumige Chalet.

Das Chalet war sehr oberflächlich „sauber“ also nicht wirklich gut gereinigt. Das Lavabo und der Wasserhahn wie auch die Dusche war wie nicht mit Putzmittel geputzt. Eher einfach sehr fleckig und eingetrocknet. Es hat zwar alles gut gerochen, aber auch manchmal fast bisschen zu viel nach künstlichem Duftspray.
