The host did everything he could to make our stay in Syracusa a pleasant one, when this place wasn't available because of a problem with the local water system. He met us on arrival, sorted out everything and made sure we had a pleasant stay in Syracusa.

The host contacted us 24 hours before our arrival to say the apartment wasn't available - we had already set off from home. There was genuinely a problem with the local water system, caused by a failed municipal water pump (we looked it up). The host was really helpful in sorting things out - he sorted out alternative accommodation nearby; he gave us vouchers to use a local spa. Alternative accommodation was in a good location nearby but wasn't as good as the place we booked.
