Deer Park is a much loved house with a long history. Built as a folly and tea room for Scampston Hall, today it is a comfortable base for a break with as much adventure, relaxation, romance and celebration as you might want.

Set in 20 acres of Capability Brown parkland the house sleeps 10 people, in 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with a huge kitchen diner and 4 more reception rooms. Dog friendly, we are less than 30 minutes from the North Yorkshire Coast, the Moors and York. From the back gate you can walk for miles across the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.

There are six bedrooms, which include:
- two King size doubles,
- two twin bedrooms (both of which can become super king doubles)
- two singles.

One twin bed is on the ground floor with an en suite shower room, excellent for anyone with mobility problems.

Upstairs the other rooms share two bathrooms, both of which have baths and showers (one shower over bath, one separate cubicle).

Please note: one single room is accessed through either bed 2 or through bed 4. The other single room has a raised platform bed that is 6 foot long so is not suitable for very tall people!

The house is very spacious - so your party can spend time together or apart as suits you! We have:
- a huge kitchen diner (sofa and widescreen TV as well as big dining table)
- separate breakfast room
- octagonal dining room
- sitting room downstairs (widescreen smart TV, DVD player)
- upstairs drawing room - beautiful tea room with views across the park to Scampston Hall

On the practical side, Wifi is available throughout the house, and we have a bootroom with a washing machine/dryer. The kitchen has an Aga and an electric oven / hob, with large fridge and separate freezer as well as a larder.

Oil central heating, all utilities, wifi, firewood, bedding and towels are all included in the package

Outside the house has a lovely enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture. The parkland around the house is yours to enjoy; it is managed very lightly and has been parkland for hundreds of years so it is very rich in wildlife and rare species. At night the skies are bright with stars - if you have forgotten what it is like to be able to see by the light of the moon then you are in for a treat!. Please note there is a beck running on one side of the park so small children should be supervised if playing out in the park.

Up to three dogs are very welcome, although we ask that they remain downstairs to give our cleaning team a chance to get things straight at the end of the visit!
