Open the back gate and find yourself on the dunes of Newton Beach. This huge 3-mile stretch of golden sand is perfect for those wake-me-up walks or for having picnics with a spectacular view and is also dog friendly all year round. Get adventurous at the new water sports centre, or go for a round of golf over at the championship golf club, Royal Porthcawl. Just behind the seafront Esplanade, an exciting range of boutiques, shops and cafés are sure to entice you in, while funfair rides, ice cream and beautiful sunsets can be had during the summer months. For keen ramblers, the Wales Coast Path runs straight into the middle of Porthcawl, where the pub can fill up your tank with light ales and beers.
