Alpine Cloud Retreat
The Space:
Welcome to your dream ski-in chalet at the iconic Thunderhead Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon—where rustic heritage meets high-end modern living. Once home to the famed Skiway aerial buses to Timberline Lodge, this historic building now houses one of Govy’s most stunning and re-imagined condo retreats.
Completely renovated with thoughtful detail and premium finishes, this three-bedroom home comfortably sleeps nine and offers a rare blend of warmth, style, and function—perfect for families, retreats, or ski trips.
The open-concept main living space features large windows, reclaimed hardwood floors and exposed beams, and designer light fixtures that create a bright and inviting atmosphere. With a built-in desk area, those who need to stay connected will have the convenience of free, fast wifi and a dedicated workspace.
The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream, boasting a massive island, leathered granite countertops, an induction range, dual dishwashers, and top-of-the-line Fisher & Paykel appliances. There’s also a dedicated coffee and tea station with instant hot water, a wet bar with a beverage fridge, and Radiant floor heating in both bathrooms.
Unwind in the lower-level recreation room, complete with a huge wood-burning stone fireplace, pool table, and foosball table—an ideal space for après-ski fun. Or soothe tired muscles in your private in-unit sauna or the geothermally heated year-round pool just steps away.
Take in sweeping views of SkiBowl, or hop on the nearby shuttle to Timberline Lodge and ski straight back to your door via the legendary Glade Trail. You can also explore the snowy trails around Trillium Lake just to the south—or in the Summer, plan to hike, bike, and soak in the beauty of alpine lakes, blooming wildflower meadows, and breathtaking mountain views.
With direct ski-in access, modern comforts, and rich mountain history, this one-of-a-kind home offers mountain living at its very finest. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both—this is the ultimate basecamp for your alpine lifestyle.
