Newhaven Lodge

Reasonably convenient for the Dieppe ferry (assuming you are on foot) and on the western edge of the town centre. A warm welcome from the friendly hosts, who are used to people arriving at odd times due to the ferries. I appreciated the help with my bags up the stairs, which was offered without my having to ask. Apparently we got a room upgrade, but a stay here is functional at best. You get a room, a kettle and, in our case, two televisions. There is no guest lounge and breakfast is not supplied (there is a cafe nearby that opens at 8.30am.) I suspect the host is not present overnight and it is self check-out in the morning.

Some of the electrics in the room looked a bit dubious - multiple cables and multi-plug sockets,not all of which worked. The room could have been cleaner. I suspect that if a problem arose during the night you would be on your own to sort it out. On the whole though, given the lack of options in Newhaven, it is OK for a night before or after the ferry.

A proximité du ferry. Lit confortable.

Pas de petit déjeuner, accueil correct mais minimaliste. Aucune place de stationnement à proximité, route très passagère et très bruyante. Impossible de dormir correctement! La salle de bain/WC est très exiguë, aucune place pour poser ses affaires de toilette ou vêtements (à part sur la cuvette des toilettes!)
