Property:
In the mood for a vacation on Rügen? Then come visit the beautiful Baltic Sea resort of Göhren. Villa Elisenhof is located on a quiet side street right near the beach. Just a few steps away is the lively center of the resort. Here you’ll find a wide variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants. You can also rent bicycles for exploring the area.
The kilometer-long Baltic Sea beach with its pier is just a stone’s throw from your vacation rental and can be easily reached on foot. A little tip: You should definitely take a ride on the “Rasender Roland.” This steam-powered narrow-gauge railway has been in operation for over 100 years and transports passengers from town to town. An experience for the whole family! On the Roland, you’ll discover the island’s most beautiful spots at about 30 km/h. On the way from Göhren to Putbus, you’ll pass lakes, forests, and small villages.
In Sellin, it’s worth getting off the train no matter the weather or season. In summer, a visit to Wilhelmstraße and the 400-meter-long pier is a must. In winter, on the other hand, a visit to the Seepark is well worth it. In addition to the seasonal ice rink, you can also explore the Ahoi! adventure pool, which welcomes visitors with its beautiful sauna area and wide variety of pools.
As the train continues its journey, it winds its way through the Granitz. In addition to the famous hunting lodge, you’ll find the Black Lake here in the middle of the forest. A legend has long surrounded this 23-hectare basin lake: the gnarled, old oak tree at the edge of the marshland is said to be a prince who, upon returning from a hunt, found only the lake instead of his castle. In the middle of the lake stood a chair—a symbol of hospitality—with his glove resting on it. Instead of taking the chair, the vain prince grabbed his glove and was turned into a gnarled tree. The lake is home to numerous species of fish—from rudd and roach to perch and pike, you’ll find them all here.
As you can see, the idyllic island of Rügen offers a wealth of variety, and we look forward to welcoming you to Villa Elisenhof.
