1. This is super well equipped new fresh apartment. It has everything for comfortable stay and cooking, and more (even blender for fruits, and this is the first stay where I didn’t have to buy or bring with me BIG tea cups to make tea). The place where you feel immediately like home if you are European. Super cosy and clean and thoughtfully designed. Happy place. 2. The location is 3-5 min walking from the train (6 min train ride to main Garmish, in case needed, or back to Munich). 3. Supermarkets for cooking ingredients are close. Smaller supermarket in 3 min (near the train station, has generally all necessities, some seasonal fruits and veggies), and two big ones in circa 15 min down the road by foot in Garmish direction. 4. Farchant is much a quieter place (fully quiet at night for good sleep), more local, and has less steep green part of the mountains for hiking which is amazing. You can take a flat comfortable Philosophen Weg in the forest to Garmish, too - 50 min or something. 5. The hiking trail network is well maintained and nicely developed. You can start immediately near the village in a several directions. The almost 2000m mountains are immediately accessible too if desired. The waterfall path up is good. 6. The is a “secret” railroad next to Garmish main station (you take first any train 6 min for 2 euros to Garmish station), and exit straight to the city and then turn to the right and into the underpass from the main city exit from train station. There the train and cable car will be visible that lead to the main touristic destinations in the mountains, and they are NOT properly on the Google map. To Eibsee (very crowded in summer, hard to get back), grottoes, and to the top of Germany Zugspitze mountain, with a several mountain hike starting points in between of those very touristy destinations. Summarising - loved the stay. Always Farchant again.

1. To check in you must call the owner, and it’s not always feasible if your phone number isn’t German or no Internet on the phone. I had to turn to WhatsApp call (which luckily worked). The owners arrived fast and are super nice people though, so the worry quickly subsided. Keep in mind the check-in window is very narrow between 15.00-17.00. 2. The downstairs apartment can be super loud dependent on visitors, until they settle for their ruhe hour. Which can be after midnight. Until you can enjoy that super silent mountains around. 3. After the rain the whole Farchant can smell the true village reality in the air, meaning horse 🐴 💩. Which is normal but be aware.
