Our host, Monica, was already waiting for us; she’d provided all the information in advance via message. She’d booked a parking space for us and handed everything over in perfect order. The chilled welcome Prosecco and focaccia were particularly welcome.

The railway station was a bit close by, which was handy when we carried on by train, but it was a bit noisy at times. But that didn’t spoil the overall impression in the slightest.

This was a beautiful apartment rental in the lovely seaside town of Sestri Levante. When we booked, I paused a little because there was only one review of the apartment. The review was superlative, though, and I had a good feeling. I have stayed in apartments all over Europe and the United States, and this apartment was among the very best (maybe the absolute best). Simple, elegant, with a lovely balcony where we could sit and have a glass of wine at the end of the day or lunch while looking at the sea, and a second balcony off of one of the bedrooms that had lines for hanging wash. (There is a washer in the apartment.) Comfortable beds, good wifi and a/c, nice and comfy couch and living room furniture, dining table in open kitchen living space...just glorious! Monica, the owner of the apartment, could not have been more welcoming to us. We did not get a chance to use the bikes she made available to us, but we had the sense that she really wanted us to enjoy her vacation home. And we did!!! I only wish we had stayed more than three nights. Next time!

I can't imagine how it could have been better!

Nada a apontar
