Usable, but does requires improvement.
Overall, during our stay, there were unfortunately more negatives than positive, however the few things I did like, and the property owners should be happy with were -
1) The beds were well dressed, and comfy, and the bedding appeared clean.
2) The location was ideal, and close to local facilities, such as the town centre, takeaways, and the motorway.
3) The driveway was excellent - plenty of space for 3-4 cars.
4) Wardrobe facilities in every room which was brilliant.
5) General cleanliness in most rooms was good, including the bathrooms, just the kitchen was an issue, which I explain down below.
6) Dining facilities were good - the table was plenty big enough, and in good condition, making it a safe place for the children and family to eat.
7) Lounge area was comfy with 3 big sofas, good sized TV, and a coffee table.
8) The fridge-freezer in the kitchen was clean, and a great size, and the fact a washing machine is present is a good bonus. We didn't use the washing machine however, but the fact one was present is positive to see.
As you can see, i've found plenty positive in this house, which did make the stay a bit better.
Rather than take it as pure criticism, I wish for the owners to take this as constructive feedback, multiple things need improving to allow this place to be a more positive and safe stay -
1) Bathrooms were a disappointment - no plugs for either of the baths, so we were unable to take a bath. In addition to that, the upstairs shower had no pressure, and the downstairs one, you couldn't adjust the head, so the water just shot up the wall, making showering difficult. Also, the water was either stone cold, or boiling hot, no in-between.
2) The hard wood flooring throughout was unsuitable - many of the planks didn't align, leaving large gaps, creating trip hazards. This needs either fixing or replacing. Also, the carpet on the stairs wasn't fitted properly, it was loose, so multiple times we tripped either going up or down the stairs. This is a major safety issue that needs rectifying.
3) The kitchen in general was dirty - we had to clean the oven and it's trays, just to allow them to be used. A deep clean is needed for the oven. In addition, all utensils, glasses etc needed cleaning, as they had fingerprints, lip marks etc all over. It did appear that nothing in the kitchen is cleaned between guests. I applaud them for the amount provided, plenty of plates, bowls, glasses etc, they just need a proper clean between bookings.
4) The garden was pictured on the booking, however it was unsuitable - filled with junk, and there's no fencing between this property and next door. The pictures need to be removed from the booking, as it implies the garden can be used, but it really cannot, it is not safe for children at all.
5) Generally, the property's decor just appears scruffy. Patches all over the place to cover marks on the walls, so the walls just look a mess, and a mix of shades of white. The whole property needs a replaster and painted, as it is just a mess appearance wise.
